Anatomy on boards?

What kind of anatomy is on boards 1? Head and neck only, or gross?

Full body, albeit head and neck is what's emphasized.

hmmmmmmm.... how are the study materials to the gross? we don't even have that class :scared:

You don't take gross anatomy? That might make that section tough.

If you can get your hands on the Boards application they outline how many questions per topic are covered in each section. For exp: there might me 3 questions out of 100 on the shoulder and arm, 10 Q on histology, 10 Q on neuro. sci, 50 Q on the Trigeminal N. You get the idea.

The best study aid for gross is probably the dental decks. Some anatomy is covered in First Aid for USMLE but head & neck is weak.

Anatomy was THE most difficult section in the nation (according to the scores) this past July. The scores were markedly lower on that section than on the other three sections.

I know that I fell right in line with that trend, with my anatomy score being 10 points lower than my other scores.

Anatomy was my worst section on part I by about 5 points. If I had it to do over again, I would spend more time on Head and Neck, due to the strong emphasis NBDEI puts on this section (and the fact that the H & N questions are more difficult, more detailed). I felt like my Gross class was an adequate preparation for the rest of the section.

Yeah, we have head and neck but no gross. I found this great cause I took gross in undergrad and by the time I take the boards I would have needed to "re-teach" myself anyway. So I was like: no gross? less stress! Woo-hoo!
