Ca binds troponin, which enables troponin to remove tropomyosin from the actin binding site ---> myosin can bind now ---> muscle contracts.P waves occuring in ST segment indicates ectopic beats originating in;
-atria
-AV node
- lower portion of bundle of his (Let me know if I didn't screw up, and I will explain.)
-upper portion of bundle of his
cushings syndrome is characterized by foll except one;
- increased protein anabolism *it inhibits protein synthesis
-increased androgen levels
-hyperglycemia
-hypertension
-hyperkalemia
role of calcium in activation of cardiac muscle
-couple myosin n actin to form actinomyosin
-reduce inhibition of tropomyosin upon the myofilaments
-cause depolarization of muscle
