How hard was that crack? Looks sweet!

Do any of you scuba dive? I used to love diving before I started medical school. Now the most exciting thing I do in my spare time is ride an exercise bike. 😳

I used to. I'm still certified but haven't gone since last summer.Difficult to find good places to dive due to temperatures.

hahahaha! Loved the bike. You've got yourself a good photographer.

How about this for hobby

and I wonder why I end up with broken pelvic parts.....:meanie: gotta play hard

It seems like a very time-consuming and expensive hobby. Something for snobs. Love the uniform though, the jodhpurs and the shiny boots. Do you have a whip that goes with that as well?

I'm afraid of large animals....I did my fellowship in Charlottesville , VA.....where they brought Christopher Reeves after his little accident.

I'll stick with my iron horse.

Bah, BMWs are for pansies. I don't want pansies in this profession. 😉

I am getting a Ducati superbike 1098R as soon as cash is flowing in.

I actually thought about the desmoricci (spelling)...especially after days like today....I couldn't keep up with a pack of gixxers and R1s in the twisties.....I was maintaining a steady 100 or so....but they were pulling away....I just couldn't get this heavy thing to change directions as fast as real racers.

but I'm old, and I don't like chain maintenance....so I ride a pansy bike.

Well of course. You should see what else I keep in that trunk of mine 😉

with 407 posts,
you are just addressing this now?

maybe just stop reading this thread if you can't hold back
with the bashing of the non-anesthesia related info as you so put it.

in the grand scheme of things,
this thread and its contents.....
IT'S ALL RELATIVE!

Shoulda never started this crappy thread!

LET IT GO, SLIMETTE.

Really.

You've said your piece, nobody agreed with you.....

I respect your opinion, but since your opinion is in the overwhelming minority,

1) Light a candle.

2) Turn on the serenity fountain on your desk.

3) Go to the gym for a late night workout.

4) Binge on a half gallon of Tom&Jerry's rockyroad icecream.

5) Call your mom.

6) Let it go.

Since we are discussing off topic things lets discuss this hypothetical situation:
Let's say you live in Florida (hypothetically), and there is a hypothetical tropical storm causing flooding everywhere.
And let's say you decide to go drive around although you were told not to do so.
And let's say that you hypothetically drive your BMW into a deep puddle and the engine stalls.
You open the air intake and find that your air filter is soaked.
What are the chances that you hypothetically screwed up the engine?

What if you had been hypothetically driving this instead?😆

On a more serious note, that sucks, Dude.

Sorry it happened.

Were you able to get someone to come tow you out?

Your engine isnt ruined but with your fuel injectors and the-rest fulla water, its gonna cost some cash to fix, especially since its a beemer.

Hopefully someone can address it soon since water inside=eventual rust which is obviously bad.

Bet you can make an insurance claim which you may consider if its more than a cuppla grand (which I don't think it will be but ya never know if its a BMW/Porsche/Mercedes.

Hypothetically, this may have happened to a resident driving an old VW once and hypothetically, her pilot-neighbor who has hot tools and strong knowledge of engines drained out her cylinders (hypothetically, she is unsure how) and damn if that sucker didn't start right up and run just fine afterwards. 👍

Hypothetically, he probably pulled all the spark plugs out and cranked the engine over until it stopped spitting out water.

Now Plank, if you had been driving one of these:

You hypothetically still be driving.😀

Oh, Jet do you notice the TURBODOG sticker on my rack toolbox?

AWESOME!!

UHHHHH, NOY, THATS SOME PRETTY DEEP MUD.:wow::wow:😱😱

Well, the good news is I took the air filter out and cranked the engine several times until it started and spit all the water out.

Did you pull the plugs?

You may have gotten lucky but cranking it with water in the intake and the plugs still in can ruin/crack the engine. But if it is running fine then oh well.

The bad news: my check engine light is on and the engine doesn't sound right.
We'll see what they are going to say tomorrow when I tow it to the dealer.

The monster truck was definitely what I needed today Jet. 🙂

If your lucky its just your computer that got wet and it needs to dry.

I think this was the corner where I went down.

Freak'n sick Mill. Almost signed up for a racing class myself, but couldn't get it to fit my schedule. Maybe next year I will get a chance to be knee dragging like a champ :horns:

you see, here on SDN there are these things called "threads".

These threads have "titles", which give some hint as to the contents.

Using your literacy skills, you can discern between "anesthesia threads", and everything else.

Some recent titles that might be interesting are:

Today's Case

Weird Intubation

Bullard Help

Mac or Miller?

Sound advice from Jet

In fact, a cursory inspection of SDN anesthesia reveals that there are approximately 22 threads on the first page alone that deal with the practice of anesthesia in some way or another.

If you don't like the content of the forum, then don't cruise around, eh?

😱
It's probably already done but I did not let it run too long.

This just happened to my brother-in-law the other week. He drove through some deep water, car seemed to be working fine after, then one week later he blew out a fist-sized chunk of his engine block. Had to get the whole engine replaced ~$2000.

Never knew these moderators just sit on their ***** and not do anything!!!!

On the contrary, by letting this thread stay active along with not moving out every non-anesthesia thread in here they're letting you know that this is a community and members posting in here like to share more than just anesthesia topics.

What, did apma make another comment?

I put him on ignore like most people which would explain why very few respond to his posts.

I think he's just being glib now -- he thinks you guys are actually angry and worked up and he's trying to keep that going.

I'll leave it in your capable hands to tell him he's flattering himself.

Note he said "hypothetically." If you had one of those, you'd spend more time in the shop than in the mud. Had one of the ones in the background. Some cars leak oil. Landrovers mark their territory. (Still miss it like crazy tho' )
