why are you moderators not removing threads that have nothing to do with anesthesia..such as wines, Obama, carbonite etc...this stuff can be discussed elsewhere..this forum should be about anesthesia related issues!!
This forum is not an
ANESTHESIA TEXTBOOK.
Rather, its a
REALITY SHOW.
Ever watched a reality show,
Slim/Slimette? About the
DALLAS COWBOYS? COPS? HOGAN KNOWS?
All the people in those reality shows have jobs to do. Their jobs are important. But they're
humans too....so those shows show their
families... their time
hanging with buddies... their
outside interests....
I'm a moderator.
Most people that visit here are on their way to being an anesthesiologist.
And I'm an, uhhhhhh, ANESTHESIOLOGIST.
I've posted prolifically about my job.
Cases. Business aspects. Contracts. Partners. How to mature as an anesthesiologist and learn to pick your battles. Airway issues. Regional anesthesia. ETC ETC....
BUT THERES MORE TO OUR LIVES THAN WHATS BETWEEN THE PAGES OF BABY MILLER.
I think its enlightening for my premed/med student/resident colleagues to read about what me, Noy, Mil, UT, Zippy, Plank, and other
attendings do with our time away from the hospital.
Its enlightening to hear
CF DAVID, a med student interested in anesthesia, talk about his views on politics and business....or to hear about his
non anesthesia experiences as a med student.
Its
SPIRITUAL to see pics posted of my colleagues in their personal lives....
NOYAC THROWIN' A TWENTY FOOT SNOWBOARD ROOSTERTAIL...MIL LEANING INTO A CORNER ON HIS RICER.....NOY'S MIKE SINGLETARY DOG...
Its
FUNNY to read Zippy's posts....both anesthesia related and non-...
THIS IS A FORUM ABOUT WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE AN ANESTHESIOLOGIST.
I think this forum divulges more about the personal lives of medicine than any other forum here....and...uh....Slim....your life will eventually change in priority, all-the-while maintaining your professional worklife....
DON'T LIKE THE STYLE HERE?
WANT US TO DIVERT MORE TO A LECTURE_SERIES TYPE FORUM?
Sorry.
We are all
human as well as being anesthesiologists here.
I encourage you to embrace the
smiles, humor, and reality we bring to our readers about our professional lives
AND our lives outside the hospital.
