Doctors should be generous, charitable and in fact pay for other people’s train tickets here and there - especially those who cannot afford it.

I guess in your case if you eat an apple at your friend's house and did not ask permission we should chop your hand off?

The point is non-medical patient care offenses are not related to license suspensions... license suspensions relate to professional behavior in the context of care delivery. If this was a criminal offense (which is stipulated in your state's licensing statures) then this would be a different conversations... as others have told you get off your high throne.....
 
Having read the article and some of the details, might side with the GMC a little bit
