We need to hire due to hospital expansion as five new operating rooms are coming on line.

Level 2 trauma center in a University town approximately 70 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.

Currently paying > 75%tile for Southeast with full benefits, 401k with profit sharing, etc.

Full scope of anesthesiology services provided under medical direction through our physician owned private practice.

We are open to accommodating your employment preference: partnership track or employed, call vs non-call, weekends/holidays or not.

Happy to discuss and provide more details to those interested.

Let's get to it out in the open.
1. What's the number. (Salary)
2. Frequency of call
3. Vacation package
4. tell us the town and hospital.
5. Who has the contract? Napa or Apollo or some other entity?

I helped hire “Mick” a few years back. He’s a really great guy and it’s a solid job overall. I left 3 years ago but definitely miss a lot of the people there.

My apologies - I don't post often and thought that I would receive an email when I received a response.

Five years ago, Gaseous "saved" me from a job in New England that was falling apart. My family and I couldn't be happier here. I recently took over the group leadership position.

1. My real need is for a M-F non call doc, but I'm willing to take the right person on a partnership track. Salary is open for negotiation depending on what the candidate desires - call/no call, weekends/no weekends, employee vs partnership. We have multiple weekday sites opening up.

2. Partners take call once a week, 10 weekends per year. We like it this way because of the pre/post call benefits, but would dilute for the right person.

3. 10 weeks vacation for partners. Other tracks vary depending on salary request.

4. Athens, GA

5. Our group (10 partners) holds the contract and have for decades. The hospital has no interest in changing groups. We negotiate insurance contracts through the hospitals clinic rates thereby leveraging their size. The hospital just asked us to take over another contract in town further increasing our need.

I don't want our salaries all over the internet, but am open and honest with serious inquiries (and have had a few people contact me privately)

How long is the track? What % of partnership salary each year? Does the employee get bonuses or K-1 distributions? In this day and age any track over 1 year is really too long especially for 75% MGMA in Athens (no offense).

The partnership track thing is really over… the sooner places get that the more successful they will be going forward.
There may be isolated markets where it can work for now (@sevoflurane i am rooting for you - you guys are the true unicorn practice). I met a nice pp group in the Carolinas - hospital glad to pay for not having to deal with anesthesia headaches (for now).

Isn’t it ironic @Howard888 now USAP can have the employee model it wanted in 2017…. But now it doesn’t want that anymore…. And I will officially go on the record to say Howard was right and I was mistaken. ;-)

At about the middle of my career I sure can say it’s been interesting.

I don’t know about “unicorn practice”. Every practice has road obstacles to navigate around. Our original practice dates back to 1949 and as such we have generations of anesthesiologists in our practice. Some partners currently practicing with their sons which I find warming.
I have a lot of confidence in our leadership and group. Currently going through the best years of my working life.
No weekends, no OB, .5 FTE in a beautiful area of the country.
I mean sure, I’d like 150/unit blended payor mix… that’s the true unicorn practice. We’ll never get close to that, but we do well in an MD/sit your own cases practice.
