(Trying to bring a bit of fun to these sometimes overly somber threads)

Because I've seen it come up quite a bit (nerds will nerd I suppose) interested in what anime/manga or any other books/TV shows/video games you guys use to "escape" from everyday school/studying/application building?

-Personally during my DAT prep I went through about 300 episodes of Naruto, best decision I ever made. The show was what I looked forward to after long study days and helped a good amount to keep me motivated, as odd as that may sound.
-Also figured I'd add that I find time to workout multiple times throughout the week to help keep me sane. Different outlets work for different people, that's why I'm interested to hear yours!

LOL

I used to use Naruto as sports motivation hahahaha. His fight with Neji..

I made a pretty similar thread a few weeks ago that got closed by the moderator, just a heads up haha.

EDIT: I've been having fun with PS4 overwatch as well as an anime called oregairu

what a drag...hopefully that doesn't happen. Just trying to lighten things up, like I'm sure you were doing.

Haha I see where they were coming from but it seemed like people enjoyed the thread.

Yours is a bit better than mine, since you framed it as a "study/stress relief technique". I just straight up talked about video games lmfao

Kono subarashii sekai ni shukufuku wo!

You won't regret it.

Never heard of this one but just looked up the synopsis, sounds pretty cool. Crazy how anime seems to be an escape for so many people on a site like this. I see it as an ode to the intelligence of the community, finding interest in non-mainstream platforms that can at times be so much more stimulating. I think we can all agree good stimulation is often necessary after overloading our brains with info haha.

I studied for my dat last summer and one day I took a day off and played battlefield 4 on xbox for 12 hours straight, no exaggeration.

Forgot to mention that I like doing BJJ and playing Overwatch at the moment to distract me from the cycle.
BJJ! wow that's pretty sweet. I love MMA (as in I watch a lot of UFC) and have been looking into bjj, heard from a few people that it's just plain fun. Thoughts?

As far as video games go, I'm just very very impatiently waiting for FFXV. Once that comes the rest of my application building will be a breeze.

I might watch too much anime but I haven't even started undergraduate yet. So I think I'm okay?

Yeah, if you go consistently for a month or two your will get pretty addicted. A lot of people get put off by it in the beginning because you don't know what to do and constantly get tapped but if you're humble and like to learn then I definitely recommend.

I was actually at UFC 205 this weekend, it was really fun.

Show wise I've just started watching Humans and Westworld, then theres my ongoing faves Flash Arrow walking dead etc..

Anime: well one punch man and 100 mob psycho already mentioned but...Shokugeki no Soma,Drifters, Yuri on ice, Bungo Stray Dogs, and if you want another long series anime, try Gintama, Hunter x Hunter, Fairy Tail

Not anime obviously but when I was in the process of studying for my DAT I watched the whole final season of Gossip Girl in one day. About ten hours total. Also, just now when I should be writing an essay I keep watching YouTube videos about time travelers caught on tape hahaha.

We should play League sometime, when ever I get a new laptop lol

Escape from studying? Where do you think you are!? This is gunner land. We study year round, no breaks.

Don't really watch any shows unless it's with my gf. Then it's Archer.

My favorite studying outlet is a long walk around campus or into the city. Sometimes it's great to clear your head from school stuff and just enjoy some fresh cold air.
