Is it me or is there a heck of alot of overlap in the 5 book BSS series for step2?? (although its suppose to be for step1){Board simulator series}
Would you guys consider it valuable for step 2 if someone does a total of 5000 qs?
Would you consider it valuable if someone does a total 50,000qs?
[By the way this q is for someone who has taken step2]

The only book that overlaps is the second book, Normal and Abnormal Processes, because it contains a bit of information from all the other books. Three of the books are limited to specific organ systems, so obviously they do not overlap. The other book is limited to basic sciences, which I felt was the most unique of the 5. So I disagree with the thinking that there is a lot of overlap.

I did about half of the questions in each of the 5 books and found them very helpful in preparing for step 1. I liked the questions for several reasons. 1) short length of questions so you can quickly move through them... 2)they were more difficult and seemed to test a lot of the smaller details in first aid, which reinforced several of these concepts...3) wide range of topics, unlike q bank which was horribly weighted with path and pharm

I didnt keep track of the q's i got right and wrong. Just used the books as a learning tool, rather than an analysis of my progress. Overall, I would recommend them. It would be nice if 3 or 4 of you could buy the set together and share to save some $$$$.

i used the organ system bss books (3 of them), i found them just as useful as other books that i used. the only ones that i'd rank higher are Robbins review of pathology and webpath. mixing up your sources of questions is a good idea in general------goooooodluck
