So I previously had a q about meningitis where World differed from FA in terms of what has the highest prevalence ...
and now I got to another question with pneumonia!! The question was a 36 year old HIV man with a CD4 count of 800 ... what type of pneumonia .... as the explanation said ... with an 800 CD4 he is a regular immunocompetent man ... but then it went on to say that the most likely infection would be S. Pneumonia because it is the most prevelant ....
after memorizing the FA chart, I religiously put mycoplasma because FA lists it as the highest for 18-40 ..... and got it wrong ....
how do you know what the cut offs are????? I'm at a loss for how to tell! I know mycoplasma usually say something about the x-ray looks way worse than the presentation ... but the stem just said general pneumonia ......
