I had to take comlex I at the end of third year instead of second year. Please read what I wrote below.

I hope this is not too bad for my application.

" At the end of my second year, I was having stressful marital issues. I was devastated and decided to postpone my Comlex because of my mental state. I completed third year fine, and took the Comlex for the first time on July 2009. I passed the exam and got a decent score. I missed a couple weeks of school(hence the Family Medicine incomplete grade) to study for the exam and have to make up it up at the end of fourth year. I still graduate in early June 2009-on time for residency."

I want to do EM, applied to 22 programs 3 DO, 19 MD

I definitely would have been more vague about the reasoning

yeah, that really stands out as being way too much info. also, it's written in a sort of offhand manner that just doesn't sound right. if you haven't submitted yet, trim it down and tighten it up.

I already submitted it

I agree you could have done a better job describing that. ERAS isn't the place to use fine, decent, etc...

It's going to hurt your application at least a little.

Well if you already submitted no point in gving feedback, but you have a couple typos in there, and I would have been more vague about my reasoning and in a less off hand style of writing. In the end, it probably won't matter that much as that's an understanable reason for taking a bit of time off and it only affected one rotation grade.

IMO, it's not that bad. Yeah, the explanation could have been better, but I seriously doubt it will make a big difference one way or the other.

Due to a family situation during my study period for the comlex, I decided to push back my test date in order to perform at my full potential. Due to this, I will have to postpone completion of my family medicine rotation until the end of fourth year. I will complete the rotation in late may and early june of 2010 and be available to start residency on July 1st with the rest of my fellow interns.

That is how I would have worded it.
