I will be attending Cal State San Marcos (CSUSM) in Fall 2009 after I graduate from High School and I was curious if there are any other California State University students on here who are aspiring to be a dentist.

working on it...

I applied there but San Marcos was my first choice. How is CSULA? Are you getting all your pre-req's alright?

Its not my ideal school to attend. I got all my prereqs done, its not too bad especially if you are a starting student there. You will have priority by the time you get to the classes you need. The atmosphere here is fairly lacking though since its a big commuter school. Its also borders on East LA and I found my car misplaced in Inglewood 1 week later after coming out of the library.

Other than that, the school is great for keeping your grades up and doing well in.

That sounds like a pretty good college experience(except for the car getting taken to Inglewood part). I am pretty excited to go to San Marcos and start my pre-req's and general classes, even though I will be commuting there everyday I have class.

No, I'm not from California.

Have a good time, and keep the grades up, don't fall into the trap I did and you'll do fine.

Got really bad grades for 5 years, now spent anoter 5 years trying tomake them up
I hope you get in, that's dedication right there.
How many credits to you have in 10 years?

~375 quarter units so roughly ~250 semester units

Cal Poly Pomona for Master of Science. 5 interviews so far. Just get the best grades you can. Your numbers (gpa, dats) are more impt than what school you went to in my opinion. I know because I went to a UC for undergrad and finished with a poor gpa (way under 3.0!). I applied after undergrad and got no interviews, nada, zip, zilch. You're in a good place with low tuition rates, smaller classes, better professor accessibility...all which will help you in the long run.

What he said...I'm pretty much exactly the same except that my grades were so bad that no calstate would even take me back when I reapplied for 2nd bachelors. I had to go to cc for 2 years and only got accepted to CSULA afterwards.
