Any C's in Chemistry?

in orgo ...

yes, u get deep fried ... the stuff bout not gettin fried over a C is bull ...

i've got a few C's, one in orgo. I didn't get fried at my interviews at all.
( * but then again, i'm not accepted yet. )

Orgo I - it took me a while to "get" it!

I got a C in biochem I that I took over the summer. Luckily, in both org chems, both taken over the summer, I got Bs.

C in gen chem 1 and 2, C in physics 1 and C- in physics 2, (B in lab for both), C in College Algebra and Trig, and a D in precalc! I just finished orgo 1 with a C. That is what killed my science GPA, which is a 3.0. All of the other classes I took are A's and B's. I was really strong in my biology (which saved my science GPA), but I am not a math person. :scared: I think I may have a math disorder! I am just not left-brained enough for math. I went to three interviews, had two acceptances and withdrew from the other one, and no one commented on those classes. I think as long as you prove yourself in other classes, then you will be fine with some C's. Good luck!:luck:

C in orgo I and II, C in Physics I or II (I've sorta blocked that whole experience out of my mind), and a couple others. I interviewed with a 3.02... I was asked about a C in an arts and music class during my interview, not ever one thing about any of my science classes. I'm now a 2nd year, don't worry too much about it if you've got a strong application. 🙂

oh i think i did prove myself on the numerous As from jut about every other course i took .. heh, oh well. i came out lookin deep fried, to the bone.

you suck so badly. where do u attend school now, i should apply there.

LOL! Well, you are the exception I guess. You just had a rough interview. Hugs and cookies for you!😍 🙂

My problem is that I was consistently a B student in college. Only a few "blemishes" to speak of...

I only got two C's.

1. Chemistry I - C+
2. Physics 2 (Electricity & Magnetism) - C+

I also had to late drop two courses:

1. Organic Chemistry I - Withdrew Passing [WP] (was getting C), then retook for B+

2. Advanced Calculus II - Withdrew No Grade [WN] (got a 32 on first exam), then retook for a B-

I suck at math, so taking calc-based physics was a mistake!! I liked the upper level physics though which I got B's in... Electrophysics was rough, though. Because the course was so hard, the stuff on the MCAT was comparatively easy, which is why I was able to get a 10 on the PS section despite several low physics and gen chem grades...

c+ in chem 2, c+ in orgo 2, c+ in physics 1. BOO to C's!!!!!!!! rest are A's and lots of B's.

I had to replace an F in Chem. II with an A in Chem II.

Needless to say, the first prof. and I did not see eye to eye...And you can look at the transcript to see that it's the exception and not the norm for me to get bad grades.

C in chem 1 and 2 and physics 1 c
the rest b's 🙂

Do you want a cookie?

I'm curious, what was the point of this? Were you just looking for a pat on the back? It obviously had nothing to do with the question the OP asked and seems more than a little insensitive when all the other posters are posting about getting C's in a subject you obviously did well in. Why bother posting?

felt like it, now were is my pat on the back? Oh and I like oreo's

A C in organic II, A in lab, because my father passed away of cancer, and I had to take a leave of absence. When I came back I had to cram 3 orgo tests!....
and a C+ in Physics II. I failed the final, what more is there to say?😱 PCOM-GA grilled me on the C's but when i explained why, they backed off a bit. The rest of my grades are great though. I have a 3.6.👍

What did they say to you during your interview? I'm curious because I'm in the same boat in terms of grades. My big hope is AZCOM, but I'm not sure how they will react to the C's I've got. Have you had any acceptances - or are you currently attending a medical school?

For some strange reason I did the complete opposite of most people. I got B's and C's in Gen. Chem. and A's in all the organics. Math is very much a part of the axis of evil! I plan on retaking anything lower than an "B" after I graduate.

I got accepted to PCOM-GA 6 days after the interview. I declined my interview to WVSOM. It was a back up in case I did not get into PCOM-GA. I only applied to two DO schools. I thought they were not going to accept me, b/c when I went in, the DO was like 'what are these 2 C's doing here, what you dont know science?' I was shocked. I tutor undergrads in the sciences!! I felt like falling out right there in the chair, thinking to myself, this interview is over. 👎 🙁 I especially felt that way after they started talking to me about what to do if I did not get it in...to take graduate courses, etc. and to keep applying. However, I got the acceptance letter, so the 2 C's did not spoil my whole app. I had too many other good things on there😀

chem 1- first and last d. First class i ever took.
physics 1- c+
biochem- c

bah

got a B in Biochem, damn...not that it hurt my chances. B looked weird among A's..lol😀

I only had a C+ in Gen Chem 1, B's in GChem2 and Orgo 1 and 2.

I had a C+ in gen chem II. and I had a C+ in orgo I and a C in orgo chem II. I retook the orgos for As and I nailed the corresponding sections on the MCAT.

Awww, and one more SDNer goes to bed feeling a little bit better now that he threw his As in a thread entitled "Any C's in Chemistry?"

That's precious.

cranky?
i 😍 your answers sometimes😛

just for that, you deserve somethin special babe 😉

auto-acceptance into a med school of your choice 😎

i am still counting on that ginger bread cookie😀 😉

done. needa find a way for the ginger bread man to run over safely to Chi-town now.

if youre real good, may fly over with one 😉

i had a C in both orgo-II and ecology (blah!), a handful of audits, and one "W". got a lot of invites, actually interviewed at four DO schools, touro-nv was the only school that asked me about specific classes, and i have a great acceptance record (granted, my overall and science gpa were both pretty solid). i don't think a few Cs will kill you--the big picture is more important. for azcom--earlier is definitely better. i'll be there in the fall :luck:

eh, the interviews were more like interrogation warfare .. except im chuck norris and I survived .. unscathed.

um, we'll see about that in a few wks 👎

i don't think that being negative about the outcome and expecting nothing will help you...i know it is safe...i used do it all the time😳 .
i always tried to think in the worst case senario kinda way...just to not get disapointed, but i am slowly learning that staying possitive acctually helps.
So let's stay possitive...
You are getting an acceptance within next 2 weeks...ok?OK😀

heh, that ginger bread cookie may come to fruition afterall. if i'd applied to CCOM, I would donate my acceptance to you 😉

u on aim?

Chuck Norris recently had the idea to sell his urine as a canned beverage. We know this beverage as Red Bull:meanie:
