Just curious if anyone out there has had any experience with: http://www.infoimg.com to buy lists of residency programs to apply to for residency. Supposedly they provide lists of programs with their criteria so you can apply more accurately.

Scam or useful ?

A lot of the former, maybe a little of the latter based on a quick perusal of the site. They evaluate just over 1/2 of programs in the country (East and Midwest only) so you're missing out on a bunch of places using their lists. There's no quality control. It's not like most of this isn't information you could get by yourself. And honestly, how much do you trust their info?

Having said all that, it's not that expensive, the entire IM list is only $80 so you won't be out too much money if you use it. But you could certainly just apply to more programs.

Since you're probably just a shill for the website this is likely a bunch of wasted electrons but they're cheaper than infoimg.com.

Personally I think you will do better looking up the websites of programs you are interested in on ERAS, and then doing 2 things : 1) looking at the biosketches on current residents (if half their residents are IMG's you know they accept IMG's) 2) reading their applicant requirement guidelines. This is usually list as "apply" "appilcation requirements" or "international graduates". Most programs list their criteria, eg. "We have no USMLE cut off scores" "most of our residents have a USMLE score of 90+" etc.

I think if you do those 2 things you will do better. You will know if they accept IMG's if they have IMG's in the program, and most websites I have seen list their criteria.
