Just curious as to whether anyone on the board has any book recommendations to help make the transition to the 1st year a little less painful. I have heard some good things about the following and wanted to hear some opinions or further suggestions:

The Medical School Survival Guide
Survival Guide for Medical Students
How to Excel in Medical School
Medico Mnemonica
A Student-to-Student Guide to Medical School

The only book any of us should be reading heading into our MS1 year is this.

Excellent recommendation, Dr. Funk. And look! It's 32% off the regular price! What a deal!

I'm not really sure what type of books you're looking for. Are you looking for ways to improve your study skills or what med school is going to be like? Or are you looking for books which will help you with your first year courses?

You better not read. You'll do enough of that in med school.

Drink instead.

Preferably books to help improve study skills to the demands of the 1st year curriculum.
