Any news from Berkeley

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The UC's tend to be pretty slow.. I wouldn't expect to hear from them until March or maybe late February if you hassle them a lot on the phone before they send official notices out.

Yea it totally sucks how they make you wait sooooo long while it seems that every other skool in the country is throwing acceptances out to everyone like there's no tomorrow!

It seems the later e-mail, the less hope🙁 from that forum

Being someone that works in research and looks at all data quite anally, I wouldn't worry as that web site reports a very small sample (n < 10 for each school year) of self-reported results out of the ~1000 applicants that UCB receives each year, according to the ASPH data reports.

Thanks.

I saw your post and your backgroud is really excellent. Hope you get the good news from other universities.

I email the admission office and they told me the result will come out in about a week.

I know that every dept goes thru their admissions at their own pace. What concentration did u apply to?

Accepted to UCLA via email Feb. 14 (Community Health Sciences)
Accepted to UC Berkeley via email Feb. 24 (Health and Social Behavior)
Yay!

Just got email acceptance from UCLA CHS program tonight but it was dated Feb. 12?

Still waiting to hear back from UCB's HPM program...

was anyone else nervous opening up those emails??

For those that have heard from Berkeley, when did you send in your application? And when were you notified that it was being looked at? I don't know how much more I can take of checking my email every 10 minutes...................

I applied to both UCLA (Community Health Sciences) and Berkeley (Health and Social Behavior) on December 1, 2008 - hard copy materials sent about a week earlier.

I received my admit to UCLA (MPH/MSW) on 2/20.

I haven't heard from Berkeley. So, I called today. They are still in the process of making decisions. However, she informed me that if you were going to be invited to the admit weekend, 3/15-3/16, you would have heard by now.

She said everyone should hear by the end of March.

I wonder if they'll be having a second admit weekend for those who haven't heard by now

That's disheartening (about the Cal Visit Day). :scared:

Has anyone who has applied to Berkeley's Health Policy and Management concentration heard back?

So after my message earlier, I got an email from Berkeley at 7:35pm tonight as a recommendation for admission. I haven't received any notice of the admit weekend, so maybe I'm not invited... but, hey I was offered admission!

Congrats on admission! Who did you speak to originally that told you that you that everyone would hear by the end of March? And when had you heard that your application was being looked at? Thanks 🙂

Hi, I just got this random email about a Spring Visit Day on March 15-16 and I opened it and it said congratulations on being accepted...etc. so YAY! I got into the Health Policy and Management program. Has anyone else heard back yet? Now I'm in a dilemma between Berkeley and UCLA (Community Health Sciences). Does anyone have any opinions as to what to choose? Now I'm so confused!
