Hi all,

I would like to know who have experience or in same situation as me now.
I applied as international, bc as of now I am, but my green card process is in pending--almost done.

My I-140 was approved Feb 2018 (filed Dec 2016), and my I-485 is pending, but biometric done in April 2018, case got transferred to NBC June 2018 and the only thing that we are waiting is interview date. Arrrrrrrr.

Every morning I check status check to see if my interview date is scheduled. So far no updates....
My lawyer thinks within 1-2 months it will be scheduled, but who knows.

If anyone went through same process, how did you update schools when you finally got your GC?
Did you update them with GC interview date? or only after you physically got GC in your hand?

It is obvious that when you have GC, you get much better chance to get invited to interviews, and also EARLIER interviews......

Unless you have a stamp on your passport, you are still considered as an international student.

I know how it feels to wait for the stamp because I was in a process for my wife getting a green card back in 2016.

Everything went well, and I hope yours goes well too. Once you have your stamp on your passport, you can call schools to change your status.

Well that is obviously true hence I applied as international.
Did your wife applied to dental school while the process was pending?

BTW getting GC via marriage is the easiest/fastest way to get GC than any other employment based path to GC... I am sure it did not take nearly 2 years for your wife's case....I wish I was that lucky LOL Why didn't my husband had citizenship!?!??! hahahahah....
