So there's a 80% chance of failing. I won't get into why I can't postpone etc etc. Basically, I have less than a week and wondering if I should bother doing a NBME.

Uworld: 40's
Kaplan Q bank: 50's
UWSA2: 175 (last Thurs)

UWSA1: 184 today

I feel that at least I can learn from doing the previous tests. There are answers and explanations. With the NBME, there's no answers and I don't even think there's a point of paying the extra $15 to look at what I got wrong because they're not repeated. I don't need another test to tell me what my strengths/weaknesses are. I know what they are and I'm basically fighting time for a miracle.

I know the situation is really bad, but I guess miracles can happen if I get the right set of questions on the day of so since I already paid for the test, I might as well give it my all and do whatever I can at this point (postponing not an option). Any advice? Should I just do FA and stop doing all q's? I learn better from flashcards and I've been doing some on flashcard network to help me memorize which I think helped. Would doing NBME 7 at this point be a waste of my time? I mean whether I get 170 or 190 wouldn't make a difference...I would still be writing it in a bad situation.

Thanks.

1. Don't do NBME because it doesnt give you answer keys +no explaination (it just tells you where u stand; you dont learn much from it IMO)
2. Keep doing UW questions (especially path because 60-70% of the exam is somehow related to path)
3.Read 3-4 topics of FA everyday till your exam (FA IS GOD..trust me when i say this- i just had my exam yesterday!!!)
4. You can do so much in a week!!! 🙂
5. Be positive!!!! the real exam is not as hard as UW questions ( yea, there are some crazy questions- molec and cell bio in my case, but i'd say you can easily find 70% of the exam in FA somehow)
6.Make sure you read FA and UW explaination(especially path!), and i hope you pass the exam!!!! 🙂

No more NBMEs!!!

Just do UW questions and memorize as much as you can before the test. I'd split my time probably 30% questions and 70% First Aid or Flash cards, whichever is helping you learn.

Thanks guys! I started to read Goljan RR for the first time today and totally realized what my issue was. Starting with FA = bad bad bad idea if you have weak foundations. I did average in MSI, II, but I'm the type that forgets EASILY after a test = screwed for this. RR is really to help tie things together a lot and I'm going to try to go through it before I do a final run of FA.

I'm going to lay off questions except for maybe one or two sets a day.

Now...all I need is a miracle lol.
