Do you think it helped at all? It looks like I'm going to have to retake the test.

I took advantage of the Kaplan higher score guarantee. The first time I took the Kaplan class I didnt really do much of the work and I didn't preview or review any material before or after the class. I didn't really do much of the work on the web either. The second time I took it, I did nearly every possible subject test and topical test that Kaplan offered. I also took nearly every AAMC practice exam availabe as well as a few Kaplan practice exams. The class itself, I only attended for the sections I knew I needed help in. The only reason I took advantage of the higher score guarantee was so I could have access to all the online material which i think is very helpful if you actually do the work and then review it to understand what kind of mistakes you are making. I was able to jump from a 26 to a 34 in just 4 months so it was definitely helpful for me. I say take advantage of it.

Unfortunately, I did not get to sit for the August exam due to last minute scheduling problems. After 3 months of Kaplan! But I will be taking the next one for free and following exactly what hasha did. It makes a huge difference!

I am pretty much in line with hasha; all I did was the bare minimum in order to still qualify for the higher score guarantee. You are right, they have a lot of good resources which will come in handy (plus the price is right). This time around I will be sure to utilize every bit of material they have. However, I probably won't go to many of the classes unless the teacher is good.

It is funny how many of the teachers were students the exam before. Probably explains their lack of expertise

Yeah, they should have a better screening/interviewing process or something. For instance, I can get A's in various classes but for some reason if I try to explain the material to someone else it sometimes sounds as if I should have gotten a C. Some things just make sense only in my head; I understand things the way I see them.

I have the same problem

I totally agree. My Kaplan instructor sucked. And I mean big time. He didn't know the difference between kinetic and potential energy. He didn't know what a capacitor was. He once indicated that silver chloride dissociated into "Na+2" and Cl-; he was a chem major in college.

Even when we complained about him, not much was done. I ended up switching sections, forcing me to change my work schedule and to skip dinners twice a week. But it was better than listening to a completely clueless person reading incorrectly from the Kaplan teaching materials.

(He literally read straight from the book one time: "Remind students that...." You're supposed to skip that part, you schmoo.)

I wanted my money back after taking the course. I could have studied better by myself.
