Any single people in d-school?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
you know i've heard from a lot of current dental school students that the majority of the students are married or committed in a relationship, but I can't help but to keep my fingers crossed when I start dent school, jaja.

There are a good number of people in my class that are married, engaged, or in serious relationships, but there are also a good number that are single.

my gf and i just broke up this past weekend so chance are i'll be single when starting dental school (assuming i get in). i don't see myself starting a relationship now and having to go away pretty soon thereafter.

yeah, pending acceptance, i'll probably be single in dental school. kinda prefer it that way. no worries other than school work and pursuing personal interests.

I told my current girlfriend when we started dating that I wanted to be a teacher. I told all my fraternity brothers (who knew what I really wanted to be) to say this as well. She stuck around and even helped me pick out my schedule for my "education" major.

After 6 months I told her what I really wanted to be and that I didnt really lie, I want to teach people how to perform oral hygiene to the fullest extent :laugh:

Regardless, we have been together ever since...its been 2 years and 7 months.

Of course I wouldnt mind being single going to dental school, specially because ill be living in some really cool cities where the people are MUCH different then where I live now.

I am single...and will probably single next year when I start school.

i like this thread.. gives me some hope! yeah, i am still single and free to mingle so hopefully i find someone too. Its so strange being single when all your friends are either married/engaged or in a serious long-term relationship🙁
lets hope for the best and get into dental and then worry about other things..thats what I say to make myself feel better😀

Sometimes I wish I was single going into dental school. It's hard to leave a long term relationship when you are going to be thousands of miles away. It seems like there are two threads of interest here: Those who are forced to leave thier long term relationships, and those who are worried about being single in dental school. Lets all start fresh !

Tonz of single people in my class.

The only problem is you dont want to be messing around with your classmates.
it only leads to awk contact from then on in preclinic.

At first its hard meeting new people since everyone you know is in your dental school class, so you all hang out all the time. and get drunk together, which can lead to some dangerous situations, my room mate knows from experience.

Leave that long distance relationship experience something new, and have fun😉
