Hey everyone,

I was just wondering what your stats were when applying to SJSU. Really wondering if I even have a shot at applying there. And if you guys also applied to Dominican U, SMU, or USC, how'd that workout for you guys?


Also any tips?! Very stressed with all the stuff you have to do to apply

Hi!

I didn't apply to SJSU but I suggest you do. I put together my applications really late (February!!! Yikes!). There's absolutely no harm in trying. 🙂 I’ve read posts about people getting in with a sub 3.0 GPA… although that’s probably not the norm. I’ve also seen posts about people with stellar stats getting rejected. Who knows what they’re looking for? Give it your best shot! 🙂

Since I applied late, I was only able to apply to a couple of OTCAS schools that had late deadlines and Dominican. Luckily, I got a couple of interviews (one OTCAS school and Dominican) and was accepted to both. I lucked out with Dominican because they didn’t start reviewing applications until after the deadline. I don’t know about USC but I know SMU has an early deadline (November?). I met two applicants on interview day at Dominican who already got accepted to SMU but still decided to show up for the interview.

I think Dominican’s app deadline for 2014 is Feb 1st. It was March 1st this year.

Yes, there’s a lot to do, and yes, it is stressful… but such is the nature of the application process unfortunately. =/ If you have any questions or need help with the process, message me. I’d be happy to help. =)

My #1 Advice: Don’t be like me. Apply early! haha

Thank you very much! You really gave me some good information and I really appreciate that. I do plan on applying early and studying for the GRE for like 3 months. I will definitely keep in contact with you if I need more help. I really think SJSU would be a good place for me.

So are you an OT student now? at what college? if you dont mind me asking

I'll be attending Dominican in the fall. =)
