Hi...
U r far better than me. Don't worry. U have got good stats and supplements for the application.U have more chances getting into a school than many other people. Don't get stressed out.Every thing will be fine. Stay calm.
Applying in May is not too late. just finish ur exams and apply before May end.
I m sure u will get admission in more than one school.
Good luck....

Hey toothfairyqueen cheer up !!
Your profile is much better than mine..I have the same score as you but less gpa and experience than you !! Don't worry, you'll get something great !!
All the best for part 2 !! 👍

Hi
I am kind of saturated with thinking, what should i do, so I thought to scribble here for your opinion. I got 82 in nbde part 1 in august 2010.got GPA 3.95, toefl 110, many academic awards, extracurriculars, abt a yr experience in my home country.I applied in last cycle, got just one interview invite followed by rejection. Currently I gathered, dental assisting, volunteering, observorship experience ...
i have got my nbde part 2 in about 2 weeks on april 24-25? and my toefl on 13th may coz it just got expired, I was sort of depressed before my exams.
1. since caapid opens on 14th april, when should i apply?
2. what should be my strategy for this application cycle?
3.honestly saying, i would grade myself zero in case I have to appear for any bench test.. so i gotto prepare that too. where do i stand? how good or bad is my profile to be accepted into dental school with 2yr program?

I would suggest you to do lot of Continuing Dental education courses,,,many are available free and some are available for cheap....this can help you stay updated in the current dental field...

Also, if you get a chance to read dental journals...you can do that...

Well, Good luck for your part-2

Hi Toothfairyqueen,

All the very best for your exam! Dont worry,it is quite normal to feel that way before exams.

Hi, I see you are stressed, calm down, try to applie to UPENN, they have more than 30 spots and the score doesnt matter a lot for them, so dont forget that people that got high scores used to take the part one multiple times, they cant anymore so everybody is in the sam boat. I took part 2 so its fine take your time. Let me know if you need anything else.

hey toothfairyqueen you have great score and profile. you will definitely get. Can you tell me what kind of volunteer work are you doing?

Hi Tooth Fairy queen

Don't be stressed....thts the only part which will not help u in achieving ur goal...its a long process..take it step by step... At this time, concentrate on ur part 2, and Toefl, get a very gud score. U have many gud things to supplement ur application. Make sure that you you present everything in an excellent way on CAAPID. May is gud time to appply..not too late...
Another thing..ur PS and LORS will make a hell lot of difference in fetching u interviews.
Apply to max schools, to increase ur chances of getting an interview.

Hope it helps

Hi everyone,
I was going through interview stuff and got to read this post. As toothfairy, I am also totally devastated, after applying to all schools for 3 years. I have not got a single acceptance so far, and I was rejected after 2 interviews. But this post gave me a little hope. My stats are not great. Part 1 -87, part2 -77, toefl-100, gpa-3.2. I really dont know what to do, as this is my 4rth year of application cycle. I am just sharing my story here. If some one can shed some light on how I should improve my application, it would be great.
Thanks a lot.

Hi, I'm talking from my own exp. You need US experience, it is vital that you know the patient managment, jurisprudence (do no harm etc) ethics and hands on experience here, be that as DA, RDH, Limited License Detnists, but its imperative that you lived here and have some experience with dthe sistem here, also know the culture a little.Aply ton as many shcools you can even one with bench test, be very flexible, and dont forget hands on and dont give up, on the iv be calm and DO NOT OVERIMPRESS, but sell yourself on good terms, one more thinsg, public health, look at Nursing homes my need some volunteers for some OHI programs for elderly, give your time for free to promote oral health, this will look great on your resume. Hope helps, and dont give up. God Bless

looks like everyone is in the same boat...many of you have stronger profile than me..so dont worry..You guys will achieve it..I suggest to go step by step..do not rush into application procedure...sometimes hurrying up for everything makes you forget something...so stay calm & cool..& at last keep in touch with SDN...
