Is there anybody here that has ever interviewed at Target for pharm. tech? I have an one on Wednesday, and I just want to know what to expect. Apparently there are two different interviews?

If you have any info after you interview can you please share it? I applied for a position there and hope to get an interview too. Good luck with the interview and please update after you go!

They called me for an interview and I told I already received an offer from CVS. Sorry I wish I could help.

Ive been working at target for a little over 2 years now. I wish I could tell you all they asked me but honestly dont remember. I think one of them was about a time that you didnt agree with something someone was doing or something along those lines.

And the 2 interviews are 1 with the HR person and one with an executive team leader i believe.

Sorry I wish I could give you more info but I honestly dont remember it well lol

question about the system. is the system easy to use? im at rite aid and NEXGEN was easy to learn.
Is the system linked with other target pharmacies like Rite Aid and CVS?
Also, are there alot of scripts in a day?
Also, is it easy to get hired? i have a tech license and just waiting until august to start pharm school.

The system we use is PDX. It is pretty primative compared to the systems used at other pharmacies. Kind of looks like DOS.

The systems are linked nation wide.

At my store we do probably around 130 scripts a day with usually one pharmacist and one tech. Alot of other stores are busier around the area though. So this is average for us.

I really cant answer if its easy to get hired or not. I guess just ask if they have a position available and they should be able to help you out.

That will vary from store to store, regardless of the company. Our pharmacy is open 9 am to 9 pm and we fill about 400-500 scripts during those hours. Our record was something like 730 on the day after Memorial Day.

Our sister store fills maybe 100 a day and they're only 20 minutes away.

That's what I figured. I used to work on the sales floor at a different target store and all of the questions started with "Tell me about a time..." There are some really stupid ones IMO.

I was offered a position at Target. I have a lot of experience at CVS but as many will agree on this forum decided that they cared more for their bottom line than me as a devoted employee.

Their interview process for me was more rigorous than ALL the pharmacy school interviews I've been to!! In fact you could say the pharmacy school interviews have been a piece of cake compared to the interview.

They are canned questions that they must ask and there are MANY PAGES of them. not to scare you, because target promotes at "fast but friendly atmosphere". I was impressed by how responsive upper management seemed to be to concerns at the store level.

Anyway, example questions include: name one time you made a mistake and what you did about it, what is your biggest strength/weakness, what would you do if you felt a coworker wasnt pulling their weight, do you feel raises should be based on seniority or merit, describe one time you helped someone without being asked, etc

I think having prior retail experience is a big bonus because a lot of these questions draw on previous experience working with coworkers or people in general.

hope that helps!

I worked for Target pharmacy for 4 years. The questions are canned questions and scenario questions. However, the Target pharmacies in my area are in such need of tech's that they pretty much will hire you no matter what you say as long as you have some experience.

I did not like the separation between store and pharmacy and ended up leaving because of the stress that was put on us by the floor executives.
Not every store is the same though.

Good luck with your interview!
