Invest some time and read the forum of your field of interest wheter it be pharmacy, optometry, medicine, dentistry, etc. It's a good thing you've discovered this forum early in your career because there are a lot of good feedback from SDNers' experiences. Most importantly, keep up your GPA, read the forums, get some practical experience if you could.

In fact, there's a girl who works in my pharmacy that discovered she doesn't like pharmacy, she's only in HS. It's good she acknowledges her interest and disinterest early on.

I would say the best advice for you is to take pride in getting good grades. If you do that great things will follow no matter what your educational background is.

Especially in my pre-req classes, I would stoke myself up like a week before tests to get the good grade. Read your textbooks and notes so that you have them imprinted in your brain by the time the test comes around.

Also, go to your professors' office hours and get to know them so you can get reccomendations.

Grades are really important. But also remember to have fun! A college experience is one of a kind. Balance your time between getting good grades - and going out and experiencing the world.

I know that I want to major in Pharmacy and my grades so far are all A's, but I am kind of scared because right now I am going to a community college and I have heard that they look down on students who have started off in community colleges. Is that true?

And I am also worried whether or not I am on the right track, but I have talked to my counselor and she told me I am on the right track, but I don't feel like I am. I feel like I am doing something wrong which will screw me over in the long run.

Most of my pre-pharm friends work in the pharmacy as pharmacy technicians. I heard the jobs were easy to get, and if you get a lot of experience, not only will it look good, but you will get a good letter of recommendation from your pharmacist employer.

Hey, welcome to the site. I just read on the University of Michigan website the following:

"The Pharm.D. is a professional degree requiring four years of study in the College after completion of at least two years of pre-pharmacy study in a community college or liberal arts college. (Applicants who have completed work in a college of pharmacy, including those who have earned a B.S. degree in pharmacy, are considered for admission at advanced levels.)"

Don't sweat it. You seem to be on the right track (I am not too sure, I am into medicine)...Good luck
