Any vertically challenged premeds?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yep!! I increase my verticalness so I'm less vertically challenged. 😛

Whatever works. I hear they won't let you into pediatrics unless you are at least 5'7". Apparently they don't think shorties can earn the respect of children, who just so happen to be vertically challenged as well.

Mine too, WinterLights mine too! Let poor attempts at humor ring forth! (If there was a star icon, I would insert it here.)

Short people have horrible senses of humor.

Lol. Well I'm not short so apparently I don't have a terrible sense of humor.

(right.......?)

Don't trump your height superiority in front of the tinies! It hurts us so 🙁

Hey, well at least you can get a job at Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. The best job I can hope for is working at a grocery store, getting items off of the top shelves for the vertically challenged.

You never had to deal with the extremely frequent questions about whether I play Basketball. To answer them I always referred to my complete incompetence at Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, etc...

Haha. When I found out my roommate for my freshman year was 5'11" one of my first comments was "oh, cool! You can get stuff off high shelves for me!" 😀 I offered to get things off of low shelves for her, but I don't think my lack of height was quite as exciting

(I'm 5'3" ish with shoes)

Maybe you could have offered her some of that delicious chocolate that you secretly brought home from work?

Well, considering she had plans to be a sports nutritionist and very concerned with her health, I'm not sure she would have eaten them. If I had offered carrot sticks, maybe... 😉

I'm only about 5'2 without shoes and my twin is 5'3 without shoes (she wants to go into the military, not into medical)

Us shorties never get respect. 🙁 However, at least I have the qualifications to work at Willy Wonka and for a chocolate freak like me, that's the real dream job. 😀

I would like Willy Wonka to rescue me from my life of living in trees and eating crushed caterpillars. And I would LOVE to do crazy synchronized dances with my midget-clones. Oh sweet mama!

Just don't end up like Augustus Gloop. Its probably better if you stick to making the chocolate, not eating it okay?

So are you one of those protesters at Berkeley? How do you get into the trees if you cant reach the branches?

I think I'm having too much fun here.

Pre-meds having fun? No, no, very bad.

Maybe for guys...
As a 6'0" female, I argue that guys should be at least 6'2".

Good thing I'm 6'5". I feel kind of bad for you super tall chicks. Tall guys seem to gravitate towards shorter girls a lot. No idea what that is.

My older brother is 5'6" and my dad is 5'10". The next tallest person in my entire family is 5'11", that includes extended family. I get a lot of milk man jokes.

5'2" female. Thank goodness for heels. I wonder what options short men have.

Stilts!

Sadly about the same amount of options as tall women... assuming that you don't like creepy short guys that have a thing for tall women (there are way too many guys like this that come up to me just because I am very tall).

I'm a heightist, what can I say?

They don't look very safe or comfortable for that matter.

And besides, judging from that picture, it looks like they went out of fashion several centuries ago.

I love the short females.

I'm fine with being 5'2 (And i love heels!). My boyfriend is only 5'5 so it works out great! haha

haha i'm 5'7. my roommate's 6'5 and doesn't play a single sport. not that he is necessarily unathletic, but he simply hates sports. what a waste...👎

i love bball but being short doesn't help. there he is 6'5 just sitting there playing computer games!!

Being only 5'2, it's entertaining watching me play basketball. I throw the ball to the hoop and it doesn't even reach the net half the time

5'8"

But I'm tall where it counts. :wow:

My range is probably 5'0" - 6'4." That is not to say that there is not room to work above and below that range lol.
Ohh no! 5'8 is where I draw the line for my women! Unless it's a model. 😎

I tend to enjoy being with someone that I can see eye to eye with (literally.) However, I have no problem with someone shorter or slightly taller than I am. To each their own.

5.05" (1.54cm)

Asian chinese. Not too short in my country. 😀

since when is 5'4'' considered short for a woman? last i checked it was spot on the average. heck even 5'2'' people, stop wining you are very close to average.
im 5'4'' and about 5'7'' in heels, very much comfortable with my height. if i was 5'7'' without heels i doubt i would want to ever wear them as they would make me 5'10'', an inch taller than the average man : /

im 5'9" and i feel pretty short at times

its a shame i can't wear heals to be taller. people would judge me.

Haha, yes they probably would...

But I wear heels occasionally, since being 6'3" and entering a room really draws attention immediately!
