Yeah, I'm submitting my application shortly. I still have hope that one of the waitlists will come through, but if not it's a nice thing to be in good shape for the next cycle.

TOTALLY APPLY EARLY! That's what I keep hearing from the admissions groups. It may not be different, but remember, if you were waitlisted, that pretty much means, yea, we'd take you if we had the room, JUST AS YOU ARE.

Apply early, and as you do more things(more shadowing, volunteering, etc) send them updates they will put them in your folder. LECOM asked me at my interview, "What have you done since you applied you'd like to tell us about."

It gives you a chance to keep in touch, and your app is in early, so you still have a better at the completely open rosters. Realize also that many schools love their reapplicants, and especially reapplicants who were already "accepted" to a waitlist.(IMHO).

I started mine for next year, even though I'm set on one particular school.

I am WL, high-tier2 at touro-MI. I interviewed Jan. 30. Anyone know how many seats are open or how many of us were placed high waitlist?

I wrote this on another thread, but it might be helpful for you:

From reading previous posts by other people, the waitlist is most likely to have around 120 - 180 people. Here's my wishful thinking coming in to play:

If 120 people on the waitlist,
40 High - 20 first tier
20 second tier
40 Middle
40 Low
Result: All first tier high waitlist will be have offers with some of second tier.

If 180 people on the waitlist,
60 High - 30 first tier
30 second tier
60 Middle
60 Low
Result: Most of first tier high waitlist will have offers with some of second tier.

the movement of acceptance from waitlist was around 30 for last year. therefore, if you're on the High waitlist, first tier. You probably have a "very good chance of getting an offer" (Dr. Haight). At this point, I think about 15-20 people have been moved off the high waitlist. So there should be 10-15 left to go from now until August. (Well you've got to take into account Dr. Haight's disclaimer about the fickle temperament of the waitlist).

I am on the High waitlist myself. I'll cross my fingers for you if you cross some for me. 😀

If anyone has more accurate information, please contribute. This is just my random deduction from limited information.

Congrats lateapp! I also noticed that you were waitlisted at ATSU-SOMA. Have you withdrawn or will you go if invited? Any word from them yet? (I've been on the waitlist since late march) Hard to turn down Touro and the cheaper tuition.....Congrats again.

Hey thanks. Despite sending multiple emails and leaving as many if not more phone messages on Joyce's voicemail, I still have yet to hear from her. Whether she is dogging my messages, too important to respond, or is truely too busy to take 2 min. to respond to an email, I can not say (hopefully the last). But, as I can only afford one non-refundable deposit, I have accepted at Touro and will be withdrawing my consideration at SOMA. I really enjoyed interviewing at SOMA and really like their school and the approach that they are taking with their cirriculum (sp?), I have not been very impressed with the application proccess on the SOMA side (although the admissions councilors were very helpful, but they are in Kirksville). I think, though, that once they get a little more experience that they will warm up.
