any white folks out there applying to howard?

hi:

hope everyone is doing well. i am just wondering about experiences of people who are white applying to or attending howard. i am white myself. my husband and i live in dc where he is an ethnic studie prof. we are both active in community issues surrounding race and class so i think i would be a good fit in terms of howard's mission, but that does not change the fact that i am not african-american or of color.

thoughts appreciated!

Hi,

When I interviewed there and sat in on a lecture there was a decent representation of white males and females (25%ish). I think as a non-minority you just have to demonstrate your commitment to their mission, based on your post I think you will be fine.

Hi there,
I am a graduate of Howard College of Medicine. Contrary to popular belief, Howard's classes and faculty are pretty diverse and include whites.
