I realized after talking to some of you guys that I designated many of my masters (masters of science in public health) as health classes when they are totally biology classes. I didn't put much thought into this because I hadn't considered my biology GPA...I guess I thought health would be in that. I totally brought up my science GPA in grad school....but it doesn't show it completely because I designated a total of 19 credits as health and not bio when they're clearly bio...all As (only one A-). I think this is a big deal.

Has anyone ever gotten AMCAS to edit and reissue their AMCAS post verification?

Input please!

Simple Solution.. Clarify in secondaries..

You should try submitting the Academic Change request to AMCAS (little button on the main menu) and explain that you incorrectly classified some classes, and that the mistakes weren't caught by your verifier (assuming the course titles show that they are definitely Bio classes).

I'm curious what you mean here. I am contemplating whether to do a Masters program or additional undergraduate postbacc work after I graduate next year and I was under the impression that the graduate GPA is looked at separately from the undergraduate GPA and so they wouldn't be combined...could anyone clarify?
That was my thought exactly. I don't think any graduate classes will effect the overall or science GPA. My understanding is that they simply count in your "graduate" GPA.

That is the bad news... the good news is that the OP's classification error didn't make any difference in his AMCAS GPA calculations, so there is less to stress about.

Thanks for the help...the second person was right!

You go to the menu page on amcas were you submitted your application and there's an icon on the lower right hand corner for requesting changes...asking questions etc. But you're smarter than me, because I had to call them to find this out.

And for all those contemplating grad school...I took tons of grad level classes in college but those are only counted towards your undergrad GPA....I'm finishing up my second graduate degree and they pool all of these...so my undergrad science GPA is 3.11...but my Grad Science GPA should be over 3.5...once they fix stuff.

They put a second line below the row with all the GPAs.

Oh- so grad classes taken during undergrad do go in the undergrad gpa? All grad classes taken in an actual grad program or after you have received the undergrad degree get thrown into a grad gpa?
