I want to take med school PRE-REQ courses at Berkeley Extension...
The UC Berkeley Extension courses I'm looking at are taught mostly by professors who got their PHD from Berkeley, but are faculty at local community colleges and/or state colleges.
UC Berkeley Extension is not a degree granting program, so I don't think it is accredited. There is a UC Berkeley Extension campus or building in Berkeley, where some of the lectures are given. However, I am told that all labs are done at Community Colleges (for insurance purposes). One class I'm considering is actually held at the UCSF Parnassus campus.
I contacted UCSF, and they said that they accept UC Berkeley Extension, without any reservations, but they also take community college level courses.
Does it sound like UCB Ext. will be looked at as community college level courses? And so whichever med schools don't accept CC courses will not accept UCB Ext. or "look down on them"? What's the best way of figuring this out? (just calling school to school?)
