anyone applying to the schools in Texas??

ok as i'm skimming this board, it seems like so many people have already applied/are getting interviews. i'm alittle scared. for the 3 schools i plan to apply to in Texas, the apps just came out like sept/oct. their priority deadline isn't until the beginging of next year. i do plan to submit all my stuff within the next month or two and right now i'm just focusing on keeping up in my classes.

guess what i'm trying to say is...are there other people who haven't applied yet?!?! bc i feel so behind after reading other posts.

Yeah, I am applying to 2 schools in TX, and they do seem to be opening up the app cycle late, but UAMS (Arkansas) opened their apps up today...so I guess what I am saying is don't worry (yet) 🙂 .

If I'm not mistaken, Texas schools don't use PharmCas which is an online, generalized application used by multiple schools as the primary application. They take several weeks after the student completes everything to evaluate your grades and GPA for you and then mail out the application to each school. Next, students must complete secondary applications for the schools to which they are applying. So if you aren't having to deal with PharmCas (which can be good or bad) then you probably have no reason to worry.
Furthermore, if the schools you are applying to do not use "rolling admissions", it probably doesn't make a huge difference when you apply so long as it is before the deadline.
Of course, it can't hurt to get it all done and out of the way 🙂

YEAH, I 'm applying to Texas schools too and I don't think we are behind. I have to complete this semester because it will help get my GPA up if I make As in all the class am taking right now. I plan to turn in my application early January. So I guess you are not alone

Are u gonna apply to TSU.....Man those people are picky...I have been calling some lady in the admission office almost everyday...My celll phone bill is gonnna be huge....Now I just found out that they don't accept business Calc...what the hell...is wrong with them....I mean Under their New admissions information it only says the u need pre-calc....but i have actual calc with business applcation to it...but nope...those people won't take it...

God knows how many more surprises I'll come across before I can finalize my application...Oh one more thing I'll end up taking Physics I & II in the spring because they require physics for pharmay and nobody offers htat except for them......so that semester is gonna be ugly for me....

Yeah. I am applying to TSU, matter of fact, I am taking classes there right now ( pharmacy application and orientation). I took the physics for pharmacy students there in spring and it was so easy. Where are you taking your classes, chucks?

i go to ut austin and i'm applying to tech, ut austin, and houston. tsu had a lot of requirements that i wasn't going to be able to fulfill in 2 years so i'm not applying there.

If you don't take " physics for pharmacy" at TSU, you need to have 8 hrs physics with lab. Can I use public communication for " speech communication for pharmacy"? I personally do not like this school because of their prepharmacy requirements which several courses only offer at TSU.

Does UT Austin accept many out of state students? I'm trying to decide whether to apply there or not. If I don't take Genetics in the spring, I guess there is no point in applying, but I really don't want to take Genetics... I've taken sooo many classes.

how ironic. i have a genetics test tomorrow and i'm dying.

but yes. ut does accept out of state and yes, genetics is a requirement.
