Anyone else find ecology class annoying??

Hey everyone
I was just wondering if anyone else finds ecology their least favorite class. I know it is mine. I know it's important in the overall scheme of the environment, but it's just not my thing.....Anyway, I actually love Organic and molecular bio is good too🙂 I just wish I was not taking ecology as well because every time I study for it I feel like I could be doing more important studying.....
Anyone?

I actually loved ecology and I ended up teaching it my senior year. I find that a lot of pre-meds come to class with pre-conceived notions of what types of classes they should be taking, therefore preventing themsevles from enjoying ecology. If you really don't like ecology, I respect your personal opinions, but lets not bash entire fields of study.

Ecology has never been my thing either. Interestingly enough, the man I am marrying is a grad student in Ecology, so whenever he starts talking about his work my eyes glaze over.

Curiously enough, we are "copycatting" the lives of some friends of ours. The only two really successful Ecology students we know (now faculty members straight out of their PhD program) have doctor wives who financed their research at least in part. Precious few people can make a decent living off of Ecology in academics.

😉 Call me "breadwinner".

OH GOD i absolutly hate ecology, it's the most bull**** class I've ever taken.

i really liked ecology. i did a double major in biology and environmental studies and loved both. i didn't know i wanted to be a doctor when i was in college.

Ecology is by far the easiest bio class I have ever taken. Freshman bio was hard compared to this class. In growth of a species what is max r? the maximum rate of course! That was a direct question! Why can't you test out of upper level courses? I can't wait until cell phys when we will actually learn something pertinent in life.

Oh gosh, I sooo didn't like taking Ecology. It was SSOOOOOO boring. Plus I had to look interested because the instructor was one of the 3 profs that had interviewed me for the pre-med committee letter at my school.
