I know it's break, but there's stuff that I need to get done : study for the MCAT, complete applications for summer research and all the essays that go with them. However, since I took my last final about two weeks ago, I haven't done anything....🙁. It was such a demanding semester(22 credits), and I though after a week of well deserved rest, I'd be getting stuff done.

But two weeks later, I haven't done anything but watch tv, SDN and sleep?
Anyone else in the same position?

just relax and enjoy break

I feel motivated to beat the Elite 4 in Pokemon White.

Hahahaha oh man, I feel you on this one, totally going to go out and buy Pokemon Soul Silver this week and go to town. After a semester with 3 lab sciences (orgo/neuro/physics) + Spanish Lit, this break is extremely welcome.

As far as productivity... I have yet to start applying to summer research positions/study for the MCAT (I'm taking it in a year and a month, so I think that's okay). Is it... late in the cycle to be only starting summer applications? Maybe I should increase my productivity a bit :scared:

👍
Ok, pathetic question alert....what's your favorite pokemon?? I'm all for Rapidash and dragon pokemon 😀

Im feeling you on this one. I dug up my old card collection last year and my Charizard hologram got me about 20 bucks on ebay. i didnt know people still bought them 😕

anyway.

ive been catching up on tv shows, SDNing, eating. I figure there is no point in starting MCAT studying yet. what's an extra week of studying going to do in the long run? get a couple applications done and plan out a fun new years eve.

Yea it can be hard during the break, i lose interest in working out and all I've been doing is playing video games all day lol.....well i better enjoy it because i go back on the 3rd ;/

I have been meaning to do the laundry that got backed up over the week of and week before finals. I meant to do it on Friday, Saturday, and today Sunday. It is now 10pm Sunday. I'm not wearing any underwear. 😉

lol don't worry. I'm in the same position and went on SDN today to see if anyone was in the same position, too.

whatever, it's break. I had a stressful quarter, anyway 🙂

my family ruins my motivation to do anything during break...im always interrupted when im studying..during breaks they often ruin my motivation so much that im not motivated to do well when i go back to school...the problem has gotten so out of hand im thinkin about staying at school for spring break

i seriously have been wanting to study over break..but i cant cause im so angry that this keeps on happening

funny..cause isnt ur family supposed to be there for support..my family does the opposite lol 😳

lets hope tommorow i can focus....cause i realllllllllllllllllllly need to study

It took me like a day after finals before I got motivated to do something other than sleep, watch tv, go online. But the motivation didn't translate to action. So I am in a similar boat. But I did recently take my first steps into browsing this forum, mdapplicants, and wikipremed.

um... yes. i just got 9 mcat prep books for christmas. have i opened one? no.
🙄

I'm in the same boat as well. I started out the winter break with a to do list of applications to complete, topics to review for next semester, and emails to send out. So far, I have only "prepared" to do those things....meaning I read about how to not procrastinate on online forums. They aren't helping me very much...

Listen to a song or watch a film that motivates you. Immediately after you're done, kick yourself in the crotch. Should do the trick.

Go to the public library. It may be vacation time out there, but it's study time for you. Be around people who are on the same wavelength as you.

Thanks guys. I am normally very diligent about getting stuff done and studying, but after this semester I just don't want to do any of that right now. But I'll work on getting it done, because I have to.

i am slightly above the extremely low expectations I set for myself.
