I'm just curious if anyone else here has been interviewed by Einstein at LIJ or some other location not on campus. I been reading how people get a sealed letter or something, what is this about??? Also, is it required to take a tour of the school if the interview is not on campus?? Thanks

yeah, if you have an early interview, like 9 in the morning, chance is you'll get to go somewhere offcampus. Since the interview is closed file, they gave you a sealed envelope (which had all of your app) to give to your interviewer. Yep, the tour is required I think.

I had an offcampus interview at Montefiore I think. The shuttle driver was new at that time, so he did not know where to stop. As a result, I got to my interview like 30 min late ... thought it somewhat affected the outcome. I was wait-listed. Oh well, can't change anything now ...

G'luck

i was interviewed at a clinic/office down the street from montefiore. the admissions office was extremely nice and they gave me clear directions, along with the shuttle schedule, where they highlighted the time i needed to be on the shuttle, going and returning, as well as a map of montefiore and the surrounding area. it was a bit of a walk in the cold weather, but not bad.
about the envelope, just like faradayampere said, they give it to you to give to your interviewer. the secretary took mine, and he read it before the interview, although i've heard of others handing it directly to the interviewer who reads it during the interview. it's kind of a weird system, but luckily my interviewer seemed to pay attention when he read it and asked me a lot of questions pertaining to my experiences that i mentioned. do you have an interview there? good luck!

I'm getting interviewed at Long Island Jewish Center in New Hyde Park, so I have my interview first, then I get a shuttle to the school??

you found out in advance? why don't you call the admissions office and see what their plans are... then you'll know if you have to pick up your materials or if the interviewer already has them.
