I was told to check my status. I then noticed that instead of their "committee is now reviewing your file," now it says that (it is long)

The committee's file review indicates that they are interested in your candidacy. I couldn't believe my eyes as I am an out-of-state applicant...

I wonder if my neat "hand-written" essay (for their requirement) had anything to do with interview invite!

I got that e-mail -- my guess is that they'll post a specific date they'd like to interview you in the near future, and want to let you know you will be interviewed at some point. At least, that's what I think. 🙂

I know VCU is trying to be all nice and homey, but, man, I wish they were MORE DIRECT!!!
Reading their "monologues" on the status check is something else. why don't just say it in plain English: interview/no interview, whatever,--why all of those excuses and stuff?
Congratulations, BTW--it took them a page to convey to you you have an interview!! (or its just an elegant way of torturing you.) to make you wonder

So what did you guys write about in your VCU handwritten anyways? I wrote about Shakespear (Shylock actually) and Machiavelli. I still dunno if it was a nice change or a complete mistake. Ugghhh.

I got that message about a month ago and last week got my interview invite via an email saying to check my updated status on their page! I'll be goin down there 11/29. Good luck to you guys!

Incidentally, it must have been a nice change. I just got that crazy 'were going to give you an interview but not right now' email. My essay had absolutely nothing to do with medicine.
