Yeah I know what you mean. I have a ton of midterms and papers, presentations,e tc comming up but I am fooling around..
I can't study at all...I think it's common around this time of year. You're just burnt out

Good point StarG...,

I am having a hard time concentrating. I am taking Biochem and other important classes and wouldnt want my GPA to suffer. Dental School is draining my studying habits. My mind is definitely somewhere else....

Just a small effort and I'll be done with my BS. Lets see whats the outcome......

I was there! The hardest part was when I knew that I was accepted and I still had to finish the semester. None of the classes were required for dental school, just by BS. I don't know what to say other than, make yourself do it. I did and it feels good that I finished strong! I have a friend who was in the same boat and he opted to C out on his finals. He now regrets it, when people tell him they are proud of how hard he has worked all he can think about is those last few weeks.

Good Luck and remember, you only have one chance!

I hear you guys, I'm finishing Orgo II this semester and between work and starting to study for the DAT, its a bit overwhelming, just gotta keep planning my days but I feel like cr*p sometimes....Hey Stomatologist, what school do you go to in Miami, pretty cool I'm from Miami as well. Do you guys think a DAT date of July 13 is ok ? :D

Hey guys....i have 2 finals tomorrow..oral histo and ochem and i am sooooo not motivated to study right now...after this..i am not taking any classes till d-school starts........ :) ))
good luck on finals

Hello, once again,

Yeah, for sure thats the way to go, finishing strong. Last term for example, I was timed up with all the dental school interviews and managed to get my first C, ^&%%$#. So,...no summa cum laude for me (which I definitely regret) unless I sign for individual study during summer.

I'm still shooting for Magna...unless I screw up this term.

DMD, I go to the same school as you, FIU. As long as you're prepared any date is good to take the DAT. I took it on september 14th, and it worked fine.

It's DEFINITELY tough for me to go to classes and study now that I'm accepted to dental schools! My post-bac/graduate program had done its job and now I drop a bunch of courses and went from full-time status to half-time status. The only two courses I have left are Medical Physiology II and Immunology with the osteopathic medical school. I don't study much anymore and I think I forgot where the library was too! For example, yesterday we had our first Med. Physiology exam for this quarter, I only read through the lecture notes one time and usually I read them through at least two or three times to insure a grade "B" or higher. Right now, I really don't care if I don't get "A"s, if I can maintain "B"s, I'd be happy! I WANT my sun in FLORIDA!!!!! I miss Nova

After being accepted to dental school in mid February I have done as little work as possible. I'm just looking to pass all my classes.

I am going through the same exact thing. And its pretty bad since this is my most difficult semester  But now that I am accepted, I am looking so forward to starting dental school that I feel like I am beyond undergrad. I am so ready to move on!

StarGirl--

You are not alone, I have been trying to convince myself the "D=Degree" mentality is not correct, but it is not working too great :)

YES! I am sooo lazy now! I study the night before and frantically try to memorize! Hopefully this state of mind will disappear when dent school starts ! hehehe

It's totally the same way for me! It's getting close to the end of the year and I can't seem to bring myself to work on my term papers. In fact, I'm supposed to be working on my philosophy paper right now. Man, I think I should get back to work...

Aaaaahhhh!

Why do I have to have stupid final on the last day of finals week! Sigh, how unfortunate...While other people are celebrating and enjoying their spring break, I will be suffering in the exam room. (3-6 friday afternoon) Oh well, at least there is only one more day of torturing, then my spring break will start! good luck to me.

And good luck to all you guys who are still having finals and waiting for that special acceptance letter :)

why do you guys have finals NOW? its like "midterms" here, but I don't have any.

SuperDuperSky,
It sucks to be you. Do you have Biochem 153A final tomorrow? I remember taking that final three years ago from 3-6 on Friday. Take a break by watching the Bruin basketball game tonight
Good luck to you and have a great spring break!
Bruin2K

Hi Bruin2k,

Thanks, I will need a lot of luck. And, YES! I will take a break to watch the basketball game! Hopefully we can crush Missouri!

Meanwhile, before the game start....I have no choice but to study....sigh....a final on "bioseperation," how boring....

Go Go Bruins!!!! At least there is something to cheer about tonite =)

anyone wanna answer my question? Are you guys on a quarter or a trimester system or something?

simseema17,
Yes, the University of California system (except for Berkeley) is on a quarter system so they are taking finals right now.
Bruin2K

ohhh, ok. Thank you!! :)

simseema,

oops, forgot to answer your question. I guess that is what happens when my brain is fried! AAAH final!!
