I'm just wondering if anyone's in the same boat as I am: Application is complete at UMass, but no word otherwise.

Actually, I had an interview at UMass on Oct. 23rd, but have yet to hear whether I am going to be accepted/rejected...

Sorry if I'm mistaken gmendese, but didn't you get an interview at UMass last year? (I might be (confusing you with another person on SDN) If so, I'm SURE they'll re-interview you. They interview through the spring I believe. Just sit tight and hang in there. Since you've been complete for a few weeks, I'm sure you'll get the invite email really soon. I had an interview but I'm still waiitng to hear like most of the others. Just think, when you do get your interview you won't have to wait as long as the rest of us to hear something.

Yeah, I got interviewed at UMass last year and ended up wait listed (obviously that was the end of it). So yeah, I'm assuming I'll get interviewed but AMCAS screwed me over so badly, that I want to know how far behind I am. Like I said, I was wait listed last year but wasn't rejected until three days before school started. I hope to be accepted outright this year (and who wouldn't, right?). Anyway...thanks for the encouragement.

THey still don't have an complete app from me........

waiting for verified AMCAS.....

Call and harrass AMCAS! DEMAND TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR, but do it in a nice way. That's what I did, and they fed-exed my application that day.

G- just wanted to add that you're not behind in the process, in my opinion. Umass doesn't have the typical rolling admissions. Well, they accept a few stellar candidates on a rolling basis, but most people have to wait till March-April. I know many people who interviewed in Oct/Nov but then weren't rejected or waitlisted until April. I don't think anyone who interviewed earlier has any advantage over you. If you impress them at your interview (whenever that may be) and have imprressive qualifications they will accept you right away. I guess my only concern is that you get an interview before they send out the bulk of acceptances, but I believe that they stop interviewing before that happens--you would probably know better than me about that.

Cand-- I know that AMCAS has been GROSSLY incompetent this year, but at a certain point you really need to take matters into your own hands. I feel (like many others on this board) that I would never have gotten verified if I didn't bug the hell out of AMCAS, calling every day, talking to supervisors, threatening them (nicely) etc. If you need the names of some people that can help you I could give you some contact info for them. But you really need to act now, unless you only applied to non-rolling admissions schools.

Thanks, Serpiente, you made me feel a lot better. Now if only that interview invite would come (LOL).

Thanks for the advice, dogs, however, here's what I have done throgh out this process:

wrote two "generic" emails (no specific recepient) to AMCAS asking what's up, could you check my app, etc.

wrote Nancy Tillinghast an email AND called her, the same day (got her machine) asking her to PERSONALLY find and ap and verifiy it.

App verified on 10/30, hasn't moved since.
I call schools, they say they are waiting for AMCAS to submit the app. I email Nancy, she tells me AMCAS waits for schools to request applications.

Either way, I am going insane.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrr!
