hey, i just wanted to know if anyone else is pulling their hair out b/c of complications in applying. two of my LOR writers have bugged out on me so my applications won't go through almost all the schools i applied to and the letters won't be received/sent by AADSAS for who knows how long, so now i'm looking at MAYBE having my appl completed by mid-September. i thought everything was going smooth until my LOR people started screwing around on me. one of my friends told me he's had FIVE interview invites already and i haven't even got my LOR's in. i'm spazzin big time y'all.

Don't worry. Everyone elses is pulling their hair out over the application thing too. Once you get into dental school, you'll see that all the dental students have no hair left. You are not alone. 😉

Once your LOR writers are finally done, provide them with envolopes to send the LORs directly to each school you are applying. I know some schools require you to send the LORs through AADSAS, but most will allow you to send the recommendations directly. You'll need to check with your schools but this will spend things up a bit. I had a problem with one of my LOR writers last year, but they finally got it into AADSAS by the 2nd week of august. It took AADSAS about 2 weeks to then send out the recommendation letter to the schools, so it doesn't take the same amount of time as when they send out your actual application.

u r not alone buddy...i m too freaking out cuz of my prof who is writing a lor for me...i thought my stats are below ave so i applied early and everything has been turned in except lor...i gave my prof everything to write the letter more than a month ago but still he hasnt sent anything??? wtf...even tried callling at his emergency num but got the ans machine...anyway i have almost lost all hopes of making it this yr 🙁

what's up with all these writers who go MIA on us??? One of my profs, who IMMEDIATELY agreed to write me a letter when I asked her, now won't answer my emails! I gave her 2 months notice...so there you go, those profs can really screw you up big time! Oh yeah, same thing goes with my dentist...argggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!! 😡

someone plzzz clear this up for me...i have asked all my lor writers to send a copy to pre-hlth office...we don't have a committee so either they can fw lors to aadsas or schools...if i want to fw lors to schools, do they schools accept the photocopy of the lor?? cuz i will send the original one to aadsas...

You should contact the school to see what kind of LOR they want. If you copy the letter you should get it notarized as a true copy. If the pre-health office has it, then the office staff can send a letter explaining how they have the letter and that they are sending it to the dental school at your request. This is not a new process but could eliminate any suspicions that might pop up.

If you are sending a LOR to AADSAS for the writer you should know that the envelope seal should be signed by the writer. If you signed the waiver and are sending a copy to the schools directly in addition to AADSAS this might seem unusual to the school since you obviously had access to the letter.
