I finally got my secondaries done, but now I find that it's almost as annoying stressing out over when they are actually complete! some schools seem to take forever, especially as my school sent my letters electronically in july. it doesn't seem to matter when the secondaries are sent as much as when the file is ready to be looked at by the admissions committee.

do you guys still call to 'check up' on your applications to make sure that the letters weren't actually lost or something? I just feel lame b/c I know they say they will email when it is complete, but part of me stresses out that I can actually do something to expedite the process...

I check the website or call to make sure I'm complete, but other than that I just wait. 🙁

If I send in my application and LORs and haven't heard anything for 3 weeks, then I call and say that I'm making sure everything got there. I personally have been using the excuse that my school had some trouble mailing out my letters and I just wanted to check, since that really was an issue for a while. But really, I don't see any harm in just checking if you've given them 3-4 weeks to process things. But that's my opinion, and not fact.

m in the same boat as you are, except my letters only became available electronically on Monday. I have just called to inquire how long downloading off of virtualevals takes. Supposedly (via two different admissions offices), Virtualevals had some server problems and has been erratic. Not great news

actually your advisor can check to see which schools have downloaded your virtual evals... it doesn't always correlate with being complete, but it definitely helps to know who hasn't yet downloaded your LORs

yes, this is actually driving me crazier than anything. My letters were sent out by virtual evals 8/10 and i'm still only complete at 8 schools, 2 of which were just today. there are lots of schools i had secondaries in to in the middle of july that just haven't marked me complete because of letters. I thought the internet thign was supposed to make it faster and easier?!

Yeah I am stressed but there isn't alot I can do about my situation now. I requested my letters to be uploaded to VE so now it is out of my hands. but frustrating to wait because I know that I could scan them, create the pdf, and upload them in less than an hour if I hadn't wavied my right to see them.

I tried calling MSSM yesterday at the prescribed time and got no answer! Also, I called Dartmouth a week ago, and they said they would send out emails eventually but hadn't done so yet. The lady on the phone sounded annoyed but also acknowledged that there was no information published anywhere about how to check on one's status. Why can't everyone just have it posted on a website like most schools?!?!

I know, right? I just assumed that electronically, things would be pretty much instant. ack, it's just stressful that we've all done our part and finally finished the secondary, but the letters are holding us back, even if they've been sent!

yuck. same problem here. i get a little worried that schools can't figure out how to load it or something. then a couple of my applications didn't even ask to specify how letters were being sent so what if they are waiting for these things to come in the mail and don't even bother with virteval? i called a few schools to ask about this, but the secretaries that i talked to didn't even seem to know what virteval was. 🙁 its frustrating!

I won't take the time to really bitch about it, but yes. I'm very concerned and extremely stressed about my LORs and being complete.
