Hi everyone. I got a letter back from U of H saying I was "tabled". I was told by a couple of friends that it meant I was wait-listed. If that's the case, does anyone know if I'm supposed to get a number? Can someone please elaborate on how this process works? Thanks!

I guess it's just like other school waiting list process. They wait until like May to see if all the acceptees have turned in their signed statements or not. Then probably they'll contact those who haven't and make sure they will not attend. Then they dig up the tabled people list and start accepting them. This is how I interpret it and am totally not sure about it. ANyone else knowing this please guide!
Are you applying to other school? OR UH is your only shoot?

Being "tabled" is so f'in weak. No explanation of if is in the letter. If they had said wait-listed then at least I'd understand where I stood. I even googled "tabled" and found nothing that could possibly define it. lol. But anyways yea I'd love to know if there's a ranking to the wait-list and where I am on it. Anyone else got any info?

<--- in the same boat. sigh 🙁

I also interviewed at Incarnate Word recently, so UH isn't my only shot. However, it's where I really want to go. I interviewed w/UH March 9th, and I got a letter back a couple weeks later saying I was tabled. It was so vague. Anyways, if only a few of us are tabled, maybe it's a good thing. We might stand a chance if some of the accepted students decide to go to a different school. At least we didn't get rejected, right?

Basically, you are on a waitlist....Lets say UH will wait until the end of the interview process to decide your fate...By me saying that don't be disheartened..YOU stil got a chance...

No, you did not completely get rejected. It means "wait-list". I spoke to a current UH P2 student and that's what he told me as he used to be in such possition and did not find out until late May that he got in (by postal mail). So yes, you STILL HAVE a shot and should not be discouraged or too depressed. Plus, the Incarnate school still considers you right? So there is another shot for that. Hopefully, I'll see you at UH this Fall. 🙂

Thanks everyone for your input. Good luck to all you tabled people as well.

I got tabled too 🙁
interviewed 03.23
got letter yesterday 04.09

still waiting to hear from UT. Got email saying that my app is still "in play"

Hey everyone,

I just had to email UH to clarify this "tabled" business. Here's what they said:

"...At this time, we do not officially have a wait list--and "tabled" means that a decision has not been made at this time. You could be accepted, denied or waitlisted probably during the month of May. At that time, the waitlist will be ranked and you will have a better idea of where you stand. I think that the earliest that you would hear is May..."

I hope this helps a little bit.

just got tabled 4/16 and interviewed 3/30. i guess theres a lot of people in the same situation as us. any news for UofH lately?

I will be sending a ldenial etter to UH hopefully this week (to go to a different school) Hope one of you gets my spot!

So any updates for us "tabled" people?

hi just out of curiosity, did anyone receive denial letters yet? i'm just confused because my letter was mailed to another address, and I've just received a message that I've been denied. Also any suggestions on reapplying?

UH is a competitive school and not everyone applying will get in (last year ~800 poeple applying for 125 spots). It's just as competitive as Tech and UT are. The incarnate world school has not been fully accredited yet and that's why it's a bit easier. For UH, pcat and gpa are very important. Usually, if your pcat is below 80, it's pretty tough to stay within the game so the higher you can get for these 2 criteria (gpa, pcat), the better. They only consider the latest pcat, that's a relief! So if your pcat is below 80, retake it and ace it! Also, if you can get a bachelor before hand, do so (last year almost 50% of people getting in have BS or higher already). The interview is also important (espcially your professor interview and the essay). You've been through the process, so you know already how it works so keep practicing on that type of essay format (using 1000$ for 2 purposes) and prepare for next year then. They don't care much about the stuff you sent in through email. Those are just to provide your interviewer a bit of background about you. What they'll care and "grade" is the one you wrote when you were there! (This is what Paige Pitman told me). so
-pump up gpa, pcat
-prep carefully for the professor interview and the essay portion of the interview
-If you haven't get any experience in the pharmacy field, do so during this year. If you've had already and are able to get more, do so also.
-Remember you have an adavantage that you already know the sequence of the interview. It'll be the same next year just with different content (the group exercise, the professor interview,...) so all you have to do is to practice and practice and practice...
-I'll start Uh pharmschool this Fall 2007 (it's my top choice among 4 other schools that accepted me), if you ahve any questions, don't hesitate to PM me ok? Sorry for your rejection and good luck with your reapplication next year. Don't get discouraged, consider this a learning experience for a better result next year ok?

BUMP..as soon as any tabled people hear something, please post 🙂

I talked to Dr Pitman

She said that within the month of May, the final decisions will be made on the tabled list.

Don't get too worried yet. UH tables tons of their applicants.

As an addendum to what lvp said: UH LOVES people with degrees. The average age of their P1 year is 22-24. Historically they only accept a handful of 2-year 'pre-pharmacy' students every year in comparison to a great deal of other schools especially those in Texas.

HAving degrees before hands will prepapre you better for the intense curriculum at UH. Good luck to people waiting!

did anyone get rejected from UH? or will they wait until the end of this month when they make the final decision to send out the final acceptance leters, waitlisted letters & all rejection letters? right now i am anxiously awaiting the results from my interview in april. havent heard anything yet so i guess its all up in the air. i wonder if anyone knows how many spots might be left?

anyone else still waiting to hear back from the interview?

I would think that you should have heard something by now. Give them a call. Good luck.

Where did you get this information? I have a friend that is tabled and he is a 2-year pre-pharm student. Both he and I were under the impression that selection was ~50/50. Of course this is from the UH website which may be wrong or outdated. Just curious.

i spoke with a p1 who did 2 years undergrad at UT. she told me they only had about 20 people accepted that did 2 years undergrad straight to pharmacy school. such a low number seems farfetched, but i am only going by what she said.
still waiting to hear back from UofH myself...

bigdoc, did you already get accepted to UT? if so, congrats!!! so you are still currently tabled @ UH? i'm guessing you're going to go ahead to accept UT's offer?!

i interviewed 4/27, sooo according what I've seen, i should hear back 5/14... ohhh BOY. 😎 i'm still hoping for the best though! i really enjoyed visiting UH and the TMC. i strongly feel that it is where i belong so i'm crossing my fingers for some good news...

Yeah thats about right. I interviewed 3/23 and I got my letter about 16 days later. Good luck. I know the anticipation is hell.

yeah im in for UT. good luck with everything, i HATE the waiting part.

My interview at UH was April 27th too... So still hoping... i really am nervous now... I need to get in BAD... I flunked my final this morning cuz i was feeling very sick so i just turned in a blank paper ... :"(

I just got a letter today...I'm waitlisted. 😕 Anyone else heard back yet? Good luck to y'all!

Endurance, if you don't mind, what are your stats? I haven't received any information from them as of yet.

pre-pharm gpa: 3.3
PCAT: 87
B.S. in Biomedical Sciences
Interview date: 3/9 (even though they made a mistake on the letter saying my interview was on 3/27)

My ranking on the wait list is in the twenties. I wonder how many people have declined their acceptances historically.

Jeez, when will the waiting ever end? Anyways, I'm trying to stay optimistic. Good luck to you Julierx and everyone else!

Thanks so much endurance, being in the twenties is pretty good. I know of quite a few people that are passing on their acceptances to UH to go to UT. So, I am guessing your chances should be pretty good. It's also good to know that they tell you your place on the wait list, I'm pretty sure I'll be waitlisted as well, and the more information, the better. It would just be ideal to go to UH due to family and convenience of not having to move to Amarillo, anyways, good luck to you too! 🙂

so tabled people are officialy being waitlisted now? i need to check my mail soon

I jus got the letter and I'm waitlisted too... #8. I seriously hope that the people who are going to decline, do so asap so we can finally stop this horrible waiting game....

#8? That's really good. I know a couple of people who are rejecting UH and going to UT. You have a really good chance of getting in! Do you mind sharing your stats also?

Does anyone have the slightest idea how many people on average get in from the waitlist each year?

at least 10???

any response is appreciated🙂

I haven't received anything!! I seriously think this lack of information is driving me crazy. I check my mail and email constantly, and I have this paranoia that my letter is lost. I really don't think these admissions committees realize what they do to us. :scared:

gpa 3.45
pcat 87th
ec. pres of a pre pharm club
volunteer at texas pharm asso, hospital, prof recovery network, and retail pharm

hexane, i'm right there with you! waitlisted #11 for UH. when I got the news, of course I was a little sad that it wasn't an acceptance, but waitlisted at 11 is not bad either. I THINK our chances of getting pulled off are still pretty good. I'm gonna remain very optimistic and keep waiting it out. (as if we havent been waiting long enough already)

i feel as if I was really lucky just to get an interview from UH- my gpa is pretty good, but i bombed the PCAT haha. So yeah, i'm very hopeful and determined to get off this waitlist! Anyone with any news of UH please let us know!!! if you are turning down UH for any reason please post so it gives some hope to us WAITERS! 🙂🙂🙂

hexane and baylorbear06. i am with you guys, except you guys have a good fighting chance. I'm 38th =(. Now I am scared out of my mind 🙁

waitlisted 47th. i just told them im going to UT-Austin in the fall. Good luck to everyone though, UofH is a great school and I know everyone that gets in will have a great time!
