Holy ****, I got an interview from Drexel, today!!!

Thanks so much for the support guys. I called in to check my status and the guy is like there have been no updates. But then he asks, when was the last I heard from them and was it about an interview. At this point, I am like do not screw with me man and I said no. So, the guy is like hold up, comes back 2 minutes later and says I got an invite.

And coincidentally, it's my birthday tomorrow....so this is a kick-ass early present, better than any XBOX.

Hello All!! I just wanted to give you some hope. I was complete at Case Western way back in August. I haven't heard a peep from them for almost 4 months. However, I just received an interview invite last week. I thought for sure I was rejected because I was on "hold" while other people received interview offers even when they were complete after me. What a shocker. The moral of the story is this: it isn't over 'til the fat lady sings!!! Don't lose hope!!! Just because you haven't heard from a school doesn't mean it's over!! Good luck to all of you!

When were you complete?

Apparition, I sort of missed your question with my schoolgirl giddyness of the moment. I mailed out the secondary with the fees and everything along with an updated LOR on September 14th. I got a completion postcard sometime on Septmeber 2? (it fell under my couch). But then I got an e-mail from Drexel saying they didn't get my updated LOR in early October. Sent in the LOR the same day and finally after sending two e-mails for status updates, I called in on 10/24 and was told that it was complete but no exact date was given. This has been a bumpy ride.

I offered a lot of stuff to the MCW guy ranging from but not limited to paypal, money order, certified check, cleverly concealed cash, foot rub, back rub, hours of hot, sweaty, bawdy man sex but no dice.

I am thinking of sending a glamour shot of myself naked wearing the tiniest pink, feather boa to some of the other schools. Hopefully, it'll get me some invites of quick-ass rejections.

you know, i actually read in one of the "getting into med school" books about how some applicant mailed a whole freakin' DOOR WITH A SHOE GLUED ON TO IT to the admissions committee, with the message saying "just want to get a foot in the door." i think it was dean frantz(columbia) who said this in the book, but not sure. i think this applicant did not get in.

I'm starting to think it's not a bad idea. I mean, at least they'll remember you. And, if you were going to get rejected anyway, what's the harm? They'll get a little chuckle and move on. Althoughh I'd wait until after I was rejected. That way, if they were considering interviewing me and don't have a sense of humor, I'd have blown it.

But yea, no interviews yet. Can I join the thread? Or will I be the only one left?

Thanks alot Albany. Take my money and run. Same for every other school so far. Although Upstate told me my application has yet to be rereviewed, so it was reviewed once. Is that a good sign, that it has already been reviewed and I haven't been rejected yet?

I got the same hold letter. I heard it's because I'm out of state.

Does it matter that I like New York? Can I be an honorary New Yorker? I got rejected from suny downstate. I'm going to blame it all on my state residence.
