Has anyone on here paid to have their test manually re-scored? If so, did they find an error or did you scores just remain the same??

I got a really low score on a section I KNOW I did well on.
Only one of two things could have happened:
A. I didn't thoroughly erase answers that I changed or
B. when bubbling in my answers at the 5 minute mark, I skipped one causing the rest thereafter to be wrong.

I do remember not being able to completely erase changed answers on one of the sections (no matter how hard I erased, the area was still noticeably dark) but I can't remember which one it was....

I'm so disappointed because I improved greatly on every section and wound up with a 60 composite. Surely, this one section kept me from getting above a 70.

Here are my scores btw

verbal 53
bio 87
reading 10 🙁 ?
quantatitive 55
chemistry 85
composite 60

what did you get on reading the first time you took it?

Do you remember how many answers you erased? If it is a lot, then it wouldn't hurt to request a manual re-grade. But if it's a few, then it might be B where you skipped one. If it is the case where you accidentally skipped, there's nothing you can do about it because you cant really argue for that.

Like I said in the other January PCAT thread, you said your first score was a 7 and this one was a 10. I really think the 10 is your score. I'm sorry, I know that's really frustrating, but I think RC is designed to be tricky because, heck, everyone can read and most of the answers are right there on the page, but I truly believe it's written to be super difficult. In other standardized tests, I have always received pretty high marks in RC (95-99%) but I think my score was a 80% in RC this time. It's just a tough section and practicing doesn't help me at all b/c the reasoning test manuals give never make sense to me.

Do you run out of time and are scrambling at the end? If so, do you underline main points with your pencil? I'm sure the people sitting around me almost killed me b/c I am an underlining fool. Ignore the useless junk and underline anything that might be considered fluff, then you have less to read when reviewing the material after a question. If it's not about time, do you read the question and then look for the answer? Sometimes that works for me if reading the passage is just ridiculous and something I don't understand.

Best of luck, but I wouldn't recommend spending the money.

Hey MrsAppleseed, thanks for your reply. I never said I had a 7 in reading comprehension on my first exam. I said I had a 7 in quantitative on my first PCAT but have since improved that.

I had a 24 on my first PCAT for reading comprehension and that was because I only finished 3 of the 6 reading prompts.

I found myself scrambling at the end of reading comprehension for both of the PCATs I took. On my second attempt, I tried the underlining technique and it helped tremendously. I still only finished 5 of the 6 sections, though. If I do end up retaking, I'm going to try reading the question and looking for the answer. I appreciate your advice 🙂

I ended up paying the $40 to have my multiple choice sections rescored just to ease my mind. I'm not expecting a change but regardless, I will post what comes of it.

hey gator09, i had the same problem. i took the exam in january and my RC mark was very low although i thought i did well. Becasue of that, itlowered my composite score by a lot. please post how the appealing went because I might do it too. thanks!

I am seriously thinking of having it done. The first time I got a 97 in reading comp. I thought it was easy the second time and got a 60!!! That is a SERIOUS decrease. Did you write to them or call?
