Anyone get an interview from UGA yet?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have an interview this coming Tuesday, and there is someone else on this board who also has one. When did you send your stuff in?

They have had my PCAT scores from the oct. PCAT for a while. All my other stuff was sent in by september. Since I'm a freshman at Clemson University, I didn't have any grades to report so I sent my transcript which had my AP credit and current classes on it. I sent them my grades last week and was told by my school that they would send the trancript via overnight delivery.

Do you think they aren't taking me seriously since I am doing pre-pharm in 2 semesters as opposed to the regular 4? I know when I went to an info meeting for South Carolina College of Pharmacy all the pre-pharm pricks (students) laughed at me and said it wasn't possible.

Went in w/ 22 and took 16 in the fall, which gives me 38 out of the 60 something. My English from the fall will count for 6 hours, which will give me 41. I'm taking 14 hours this semester and my Spanish class counts twice, which will then give me 59. I just need to take Public Speaking over the summer.

sounds like a plan to me!

i think they will have taken you seriously as long as you applied with enough credits

I have just a few questions. What AP/joint enrollment classes did you have in high school to have 22 hours completed? How does a Spanish class count twice (UGA Pharmacy doesn’t require a foreign language)? Have you taken the Georgia history and constitution examination since you are not completing POLS 1100 and HIST 2111/2112 in Georgia? Are you a state resident of Georgia? If not it is harder to get accepted to a state institution from out of state since Georgia Department of Education funds UGA and a certain percentage of accepted students must be state residents (that is why I didn’t even bother applying to out of state public schools). Finally are you taking classes that are prerequisite to one another at the same time (i.e. OChem I and II)?

My school/state offered dual enrollment starting your jr year in high school where instead of taking your classes at the high school you took them at a local college

I went in with about 30 hours of credits when i started college and i know someone who had about 45 by the time it was all said and done

AP Chem - 8
AP Bio - 10
AP Calc - 4

I took o chem in the fall and now i'm taking o chem 2. I got AP credit for Chem 1/2.

I'm taking an accelerated spanish course at clemson which counts 4 hrs but once completed you can request to get the 101 credit so that's another 4 hrs. I'm taking the spanish class to fill the humanities and "extra class" or whatever requirement of like 7 hrs.

No I haven't taken the georgia history / const exam... the admissions office never said **** about it when I applied. Do I have to take it before they consider me or once i'm accepted?

I'm a SC resident.

are you sure UGA will accept your a/p classes?

i know there are some threads on here somewhere about a/p classes and them not being accepted...

it appears there are some things you may need to look into and talk with the admissions office about

you must complete all of their prereqs prior to matriculation

I personally went down to the admissions office and asked her about the AP credit with my transcript in hand. The lady said that I will receive credit, but not a grade. She said any credit Clemson accepted would transfer. They better not back out of that statement either or else I will have Ochem 1/2 credit and no gen chem 2 credit...

I know I will have the credits by fall but I don't want to get screwed out of consideration because of some ******ed little requirement like that history test. I hope my GPA and PCAT are competitive enough to get me a good shot of acceptance. I know admissions said that their avg PCAT was 93 so a 96 should be good.

You should check into whether you need to take the Georgia Regents Exams (Reading and Writing) as well.
