Anyone have any experience with the recovery act funds for summer research?

Has anyone ever gotten paid using that?

I was wondering - should I be the one filling it out? I wouldn't want to ask my PI to fill it out since he's got enough to do already, and it would be nice if I could get some money for his lab for having me this summer. I looked through the forms and there's nothing that I can't fill out (found his grant info using the RePORTER search).
