Anyone hear from UCI today?

I believe today (Nov. 1) is the first day they can give out acceptances.. anyone heard from them or talked to the adcom? I checked my status online, but there wasn't any changes to the 'admissions status' box.

Has anyone heard from or talked to either UCSD or UCD. Both schools at the interview said that we should hear something by today but I have not heard or been able to get ahold of anyone in the admissions office. Just seeing if anyone has had better luck.

I interviewed at Davis at the end of September, and they also told me yesterday it would be another week or two. They said they were just barely getting started.

Both Davis and Irvine made it sound like it could be anytime in the next two weeks, though. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

But this still does not answer the UCSD portion. Does anyone know what is going on with them?

They (UCSD) first sat down on October 17th to make decisions and they will continue every two weeks until...whenever it is they finish

Same here...I've been "pending review" for 2 months, although that doesn't seem all that abnormal with UCI. For you guys that've already interviewed: how long were you in that state?

Bluntman, I was complete on 8/25 or smthg like that, and my status changed to pending review around early-mid october I think. Then I got the interview invite on 11/3

I'll see you guys there too. I'm really excited about it. Do you guys know about how many students will be interviewing that day? Seems like there are a bunch of us on SDN alone interviewing on 11/21.

It is my understanding that Irvine only interviews once every two weeks, and there will be 40-50 students at the interview.

Alright, so I'll report what I've heard. I called them last week and was told by Gail that "a decision has already been made for everyone in the first batch [of interviews]" and that our status would change online by the end of the week. So on Friday, when nothing changed, I figured I'd give them a call Monday (yesterday). I reached someone else (Christine?) and was told that our files "are out with the dean right now" and we should find out by the end of this week.

So right now, I'm getting mixed messages and am wondering what's going on. I'd definitely like to stay in Cali and would like to cancel some of those east coast interviews I have scheduled next month, so I'm hoping that they contact us soon...

Liz at the office there said that decisions would go out this week or next. She said the dean would call accepted students, and that acceptances and "other things" would be sent by mail.

This waiting is driving me nuts. I too would like to stay in CA, but I guess everyone else does too...

When did you interview? I interviewed earlier this week. How long will my wait be. I don't want to go to the east coast later this month for all those interviews.

I was part of the 9/26 interview group, so it's been about a 6-7 week turnaround. I think they only accepted people from the first interview group today, so I doubt you'd hear for awhile. I hear ya about those east coat interviews -- I can now cancel a couple of them myself. Maybe you can delay a couple of the ones you aren't too excited about (maybe the non-rolling ones, if any of them are)?

Not at the same time -- I checked shortly thereafter and there was no change. However, I just checked right now after I saw your question, and it has indeed been updated to accepted.

Lucky you guys. I am an August mcat taker and still pending review. Any ideas as to how long the waiting time is before they acknowledged your existence post-secondary. USC replied me in like a week.

Haha, yeah I haven't heard anything either, and I interviewed 9/26. From previous experience with other schools, I'll be receiving a polite letter in the mail telling me i'm worthless within a week or so.

Although my status page on the web has not changed, the woman looked me up in their computer and said that I was on hold, and that my file would be reviewed again in the future, probably after the first pass over all the interviewees. I'm glad that I still have a shot at being accepted, but I wonder what the odds are from this hold. (I didn't want to wear out my welcome by asking about statistics.)
