Anyone heard from dental schools yet?

Did anyone receive an email from maryland stating:
Thank you for applying to the University of Maryland Dental School. An initial review of your AADSAS application indicates that you will not have completed the following requirements for admission by the June 30th deadline:

¨ 6 hours English Composition
¨ 8 hours with labs: General Biology
¨ 8 hours with labs: Organic Chemistry
¨ 8 hours with labs: Inorganic Chemistry
ý8 hours with labs: Physics
ý 3 hours of Biochemistry
¨ 90 semester hours

Please be aware that we do not receive a copy of your transcript/s from AADSAS. AADSAS provides a course work summary and in most instances, you are not deficient in completing the required course/s, rather it is that we have been unable to accurately identify the course from the information provided.

Please email Sheila McNair, Academic Program Specialist, at [email protected] and explain how you intend to fulfill these requirements, or provide the course prefix, course number and title corresponding to the listed coursework.

its weird cuz i have all of those completed except biochem which is in my planned coursework on aadsas for this fall and will be done by matriculation......
 
buffalo (10/2), nyu (9/28), and columbia (11/6)...all by email within the past 2 days

Yes, I received this e-mail as well.. and I have already completed everything on that list. I first messaged them back asking if I should have my transcripts mailed to them.. Then I re-read it, and decided to actually type out the course prefixes, numbers, and titles for the classes they were asking for.. So I felt kind of foolish for e-mailing them again. Hopefully they'll message me back and tell me that things are in order though.. 😕😕😕

yeah i didnt get it either....i hope they email us back also...so did they not receive our transcripts...im pretty sure its that they received it but could not find it in our course work (some school have weird english classes and they couldnt identify it maybe).....i dunno...i really hope they doesnt put us behindd....they are just hating on florida residents...lol
 
UF email saying app is complete and under review. My #1 choice so hopefully I hear something about an interview soon.

You might be right--maybe it was my english classes that confused them.. My english classes are from whatever passing the AP english language and AP english lit exams in high school gave me credit for.. But, I mean, if they took the time to read through the course titles, it seemed pretty self explanatory to me that "ENGLISH LANG/COMP" was one english class and "ENGLISH LIT/COMP" was another.. So, yeah, I'm not sure what else it could be possibly be.. It would be one thing if they were sending this to everyone, but people are getting secondaries! But no other school has sent me anything like this... Now I'm just all around concerned.. It just HAS to be them hating on Florida residents! They're jealous of the 90+ degree weather and humidity! :laugh: Let me know if you hear anything from them??

the problem is I have interview at buffalo on 24th and in columbia university on 25th
do you guys think if this is doable? should i reschedule one of them
(I live in California) does anybody know how far are the two universities is it a driving distance or i have to fly ?

I'm a Pennsylvania resident actually so I won't get the instate tuition 🙁 but my stats are 3.56 gpa 3.6 sgpa and dat: AA20 TS19 PAT22. I know my stats are nothing stellar and they've rejected people with much higher gpa's and dat's. I didn't really have a first choice going into this process but the more I read about UMDNJ the more I like...

Yeah, I got the email this morning as well from my phone so I went to a computer lab after class and sent everything only to just come home and find that they only wanted my 6 cr. hours of English comp. but the little symbols didn't show up in the email at the computer lab or on my phone....hope I don't look too foolish with having sent everything on the list. 😱
 
Buffalo interview on October 15th. Still waiting to hear from BU.

Haha, so those little "ý" symbols actually mean that's what they're missing? Well in that case, I guess they're just missing English comp for me as well.. Don't feel foolish. Not only did I send them the full list of all of my pre-req courses, I also e-mailed them twice in about a 10 minute period out of confusion. :idea: I wish they'd e-mail me back.....
 
UCSF Secondary complete email; I mailed it to them about a week ago.
 
predents.com shows Harvard is giving out interviews.
 
tufts won't be giving out interviews until end of september

Once a decision has been reached, you will be contacted in writing. Please note that interviews will begin in late October 2009 and continue until our class fills. Invitations for interviews will begin to be issued in late September.
 
Yay! Count me in on the Buffalo interview as well!!! I still gotta call them though.
 
Am I the only one that haven't gotten any interviews yet? I applied to USC, Western, Boston, NYU, Buffalo, Stony Brook, Temple, U Mich, Detroit Mercy, Connecticut, and UMDNJ... Application was sent on 7/10...
I know my stats aren't the best, but I'm getting impatient
 
What's your gpa? DAT is solid. I have only received 1 interview which is at my state school and 2 rejections. Yes, it is nerve wrecking while everyone is getting interviews, but just try to hang in there and think positively.

Yeah that's a good point...
My GPA is about 3.28 overall and 3.27 science.

I haven't heard from thoses schools either
MY GPA is just about yours, and DAT is slightly higher
I got interview from Nova and Columbia (don't think you applied to those ones)

I think it is email. I am sure you will get an interview with your stats and then an acceptance 2 months later.

Ugh, I haven't gotten any interviews yet either so I totally know how you feel. I applied to usc, western, llu, unlv, ohsu, ucsf and uw. apparently unlv has given out interviews but from what i've seen, only residents? I'd feel so much better if I just hear something!

Boulevard Inn and Suites (accross the road from campus).
60$ per night.
it's not Hilton, but it's only for one night 🙂
 
So I scheduled my Penn interview earlier this week, and she told me that I would get a confirmation email from them. It's been several days and I haven't gotten anything back yet. 😕 For those of you who scheduled interviews, how long did it take to get the confirmation email? I'm starting to freak out because I already booked a flight and everything......

Hmmm...I think you should get something in the mail first to confirm. You fill it out and send it back to them.
 
UNLV sent out their first round of interview invites by email on Sept. 1. I got one! I'm from Vegas.

According to predents.com a few people got interviews from BYU, and at least one from CA, so I don't think it is strictly in state.
