No, it didn't happen to me although there were some hunnies, playboy bunnies giving me the eye at the MCAT test center. Girls can smell the sexy from a mile away, what can I say.

But really, I'm wondering if anyone got close to someone due to the preparation time spent together for the MCAT.

Supposedly when exams roll around, people get pretty horny. I need to corroborate this theory so I can use the knowledge for Good... and maybe some Evil.

I prepared for the MCAT in april in california, while i grew up in chicago. So basically i knew no one my own age while preparing, until my kaplan class, where i met a really cool guy. NO, we didn't hook up but i genuinely established a really good friendship. We studied all the time and kept each other motivated. Sorry this story couldn't get a lil' more salacious...LOL 😛

im not taking any mcat-prep course. because i think the only purpose for it, is as the name of the thread implies, socializing. i am sure they cant teach you in 3 months, what you were supposed to have learned in 2 years at your university, from your Professors.

My class was about 50% "I'm soooo miffed at my dad! I've had this car for a WHOLE YEAR NOW and he says I have to wait another six months before he'll get me a new one!" (This is not an exaggeration, this is an actual statement I heard), about 25% "Gee, I don't know, I'm not sure that starting an organization that solved the homeless problem in this city and discovering a new oncogene is enough to put down on my app" (OK, this is an exaggeration but you get it), and about 25% normal people.

I'd say that the prep classes have the same kind of girls that are found everywhere else-- taken, and always talking about what they did with their boyfriends over the weekend. In terms of their personality, they are just like every other mcat examinee-- way too focused and incapable of seeing the big picture.

With that said, there were some very attractive girls.

when i took the MCAT last August hooking up was the main thing on my mind. I could tell everyone else in my center felt the same way...so yea there were a lot of hook ups. a couple even voided their scores and they left the exam together so they could get an early start on their hook up. 👍 i wish i had thought of that when i was making eye contact

Just about every MCAT class I've taught has had at least one woman that I really wish I could get to know a lot better. (I'm not supposed to do anything illicit, but I'm allowed to wish.)

Yes, the average student, female or male, in an MCAT prep class is pretty focused, but not always to the exclusion of all else. And interestingly (OK, maybe not to everyone), there is not a lot of difference in that regard between MCAT classes and other grad school prep. Some, but not as much as you'd probably expect.

I can say that the MCAT definitely helped me to get a little action! 😀

The collective sense of relief that everyone has when finally finishing the MCAT is certainly conducive to a big night out at the bars.

A big night out at the bars is apparently also conducive to a very attractive, very smart, and very fun girl from my school deciding that this is an opportune situation to tell me how great she thinks I am. That led to a lot of flirting, affectionate caresses, close dancing, & a couple of kisses (one innocent, one not so much.) Nothing too serious, but definitely a good time! 🙂

This is advice to all you single males studying for the MCAT over the summer.
FORGET ABOUT CHICKS!!!! They will do nothing but distract you from the task at hand. Act completely indifferent to all women during this period of your life. Focus all the energy you would normally expend getting laid to your MCAT study's. This will pay dividends later when you get your score and it says 35 while the guy wasting his time with girls gets a 26. He might have been getting laid during your lonely MCAT existence, but just think of all the nurses, elementary school teachers, and ballerinas you can field with an MCAT score that assures your acceptance.

Another funny thing about girls is this, they are like cats. When you are in a room with a Cat the best way to attract it is to ignore it. When you are indifferent to it, it wants to try to win your affection. Women are the same way. They will all want to jump your bones after the MCAT because you have ignored them for "like three months, like what is wrong with this guy, does he not think I am cute, O my god here he comes let me play with my hair and act dingy." Catch my drift dudes stay the course and dont let any females distract you, you've got the rest of your life to make babys, three months is nothing to sacrafice for a better score, and if you follow my advice you will have more baby making opportunities after test day.

This is a hilarious thread. Actually, a couple of years ago when I took the MCAT, I did A LOT of studying b/c I had a crush on this guy! He was my instructor (hehee) and I studied a lot to sound smart in front of him (so he'd pay attention to me), spent time coming up with good questions...basically studied as an excuse to talk to him and of course took "full advantage" of office hours....We ended up dating for awhile after the MCAT.... 😀 So I do attribute my first real relationship to the MCAT...how embarrassing is that? BUT b/c of this, I did okay on the MCAT...I guess whatever works and motivates you to study for this monster test is worth it.

Just wanted to say this thread is hillarious. I don't know many people whom were thinking about finding a significant other when studying for the MCAT, either time I took it.

I knew of a few whom were married and a few whom had steady relationships.

But there were definitely no hook ups directly as a result of the MCAT class, except maybe one. But that one hook up due to MCAT class was very brief between the two people involved.
