Hi everyone,
My wife was matched into a prelim. year at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical center in New Hampshire in preperations to join a Radiology residency at UMDNJ-Newwark next year (July 2010),while I was matched at SUNY Stony Brook for IM this year.
Anyone interested in swapping position for a prelim. year anywhere close to Stony Brook,long island NY, so we can live together?we are newly wed (3 weeks-old marriage) 🙂

You can't just swap.

You have to have the agreement of both programs in addition to the applicant's agreement to swap. Not sure if NRMP has to agree as well (but worth checking out, as not showing up for the residency in which your wife matched is a violation of the NRMP contract, even if she takes another spot somewhere else).

Thank you very much "Winged Scapula" for your response,I do realize it is a violation not to show up what what I was trying to achieve here is finding someone "applicant" interested in this prelim year position then we will explain the situation to the PD of both programs (my wife's and applicant's) as I did understood that it is doable if both programs agree and has nothing to do with NRMP as it is not listed as a Violation in the agreement.
