When do you plan to make the transition to daytime functioning? You will be taking the exam in the day time.

Nice. I'm a night owl too maybe I'll try to look for a testing center with more merciful hours.

yea that will be good! i am not a morning person at all it would've been lousy for me to take it at 8 am!

Good luck! when is ur test?

This is a terrible idea. Force yourself to start waking up earlier. You want to be the most awake and tuned in for exam time, why risk changing your sleep schedule the week of the exam?

I don't agree. I spend my whole varsity career sleeping in the day and studying at night, increased productivity by about 5x (if you can stay away from the internet 😀). So do what works for you, no point in doing what other people suggest just because they are not comfortable with your methods.

And I don't think it will affect your test, considering you only starting at 01:30. Just make sure you get enough sleep the 12hours prior to your test.

Good luck!

exactly! studying at night has always been more productive for me and there were times when i slept at night and started studying early in the morning but for some reason i always end up wasting time and not being as productive as i am at night! as long as i get enough sleep before the exam and go there refreshed and ready i am good to go. especially that the exam starts at the same time i start studying anyway so it's not like i will be awake in a time my body is used to being asleep.!

can't wait to be done and give my feedback about the test and everything 😀

I don't see a problem with your strategy. Pholston had a similar sleep schedule (if I remember correctly), and he did okay on his exam. 😉

If you're having success with what you're doing, then I don't see any reason to change now. Stick to your guns, and be sure to let us know how you do.

Good luck!

I thought Phloston did that to get used to the time difference between the US & Australia?

I truly respect Pholston for sticking to such a rigorous study schedule. His score is beyond enviable. However, I really don't think he should be considered the model of excellence here. The average step1 score at my school last year was 246 and the high was over 270. I know for a fact that more can be achieved with less time than 1 full year of studying.

I am a night owl as well, but I started forcing myself to wake up early every morning. It sucks and I have yet to get used to it. I am also timing my defecations to last 4.5 minutes max, leaving 30 seconds for wiping and hand washing, in that order. Do not eat what you will not have access to during exams. This trains your body for maximum compatibility with the sustenance you consume during the exam.

Try to mirror testing conditions in all aspects of life. This is how you conquer on the boards.

TRAINING YOUR DEFECATION TIME?? hahahahahhaha omg that's hilarious 😛
even though i am a daily pooper i noticed that whenever i am in a new or uncomfortable environment ( staying over others houses, going out etc) i never get the need to defecate! my bowels r shy 😛

once in highschool i went to camp for a whole week where the bathrooms were less than hygienic and for a whole week i didn't get the need to defecate at all! it wasn't even forced 😛

so i guess that's one less thing for me to worry about in the exam. i am now worried about how to keep my redbull cold i hate it when it's warm!
