I got one via email today. It seemed like they sent it to 207 students. Who else is going??? I'm contemplating whether I should go...

Are you guys already accepted?

I'm there. Nice to meet some more SDNer's.

I won't be there...wish I could be though...of course I would have to get in first!

I'll be there! I haven't replied to the evite yet. This will be the first time I get to meet some SDNers!

Scooby, technically I don't have any acceptances BUT I have a spot at USC from a previous application cycle. If I gave you any more information than that I would reveal my identity, so check your PM's. It's complicated, I know.

I guess it's me and the guys...See you in the ghetto. Maybe we should plan on meeting somewhere?

I didn't get the invite, but just curious: When is it?

If you can't tell, I'm DYING to get into USC.

I think only those who got accepted got the invite...

the "Accepted Student Reception 2002" is on 4/26. The email only contained a link to another website that had detailed info about the day. That website had those instant polls that allow you to say if you'll come or not; the results are posted in real time. I simply added up #s coming, #s not coming, #s not replied.

It's funny how the website says "We are thrilled to have you consider joining what we believe to be the most dynamic student body in the nation."

they're full of B.S. aren't they? But they are a great school that attract a lot of great students. Congrats to you all!!

dang, 207 huh?? do you know how many people usc usually takes off its waiting list? i would love to go there.

Why does everyone refer to the location of the school as the "Ghetto" or even South Central? I've lived in South Central and most everyone that lives where I live wouldn't even classify the area around the undergrad as South Central. You would have to go further south. The actual medical school is in East Los Angeles, and though the area is home to low-end Angelinos, it's not anywhere near as Ghetto as it can get in Los Angeles.

They accepted 334 two years ago, so you could probably assume there are 100 acceptances that will be going out sometime. My interviewer told me about how two years ago they let in to many people initially and they didn't take any people off the waitlist.

Are you on the waitlist, or are you just waiting? Has ANYBODY been put on USC's waitlist?

I'll be there. It's weird that earier today I could see who signed up for the reception, but I just checked now and it says that the guest list is not publicized. Maybe it was supposed to be a big secret that 208 people got accepted.

yeah jefe - I noticed the same thing. I think it was a mistake on their part that they later caught. Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting all you there!

hey anybody,

i have not received anything in the mail from usc yet, and i did not receive the email, so i am assuming that i am either on the waitlist or... possibly rejected (gulp)

yipes, who turned out the light? =/

Just a bit of a joke, considering SC's cross-town rival seems to be in yuppie-ville, as compared to LAC-USC.

are all of you guys who are going on the 26th planning on attending usc?
it'd be fun to meet some sdners (i haven't met any) and future classmates.
see you there? are we gonna meet, or somehow label our nametags so that we know who we all are? the function is an outdoor reception and table lunches on the quad. it's pretty cool. see you all there!
