Hello,
I posted a thread a few days ago bout distance learning physics and organic chemistry. I have e-mailed a bunch of d-schools asking if they accept online classes. I'm waiting for a few more answers. Anyone take some distance learning classes for electives or a few pre-reqs and still get accepted? Here is the list so far.

Accept dl courses:

Indiana University
Maryland
Kentucky
Minnesota
Creighton
UofFlorida
VCU (not "recommended")
Arizona
Suprisingly Boston U

Don't accept dl courses:

UMKC
UNC
Case
UCONN
USC
Tufts
Ohio State

Let me know if you guys have anymore info. Thanks

physics and organic chem dl courses doesn't come with labs. if they do then its fine if they don't have labs then none of the dental schools will accept it.

actually there are labs for some of the physics and orgo chem classes. Plus one could do the regular course online and the lab through a regular univeristy. The physics through one of the cc has a take home lab kit and some online work. It includes a lot of the stuff you would use in lab. The one orgo class is through the university of new england college of osteopathic medicine and has simulation software. Scary as it sounds, the labs from the demo seem pretty genuine. However, I never tried this before (I took orgo lab through a U already) but of course you aren't actually working with the nasty chemicals, don't have long waiting times, no foreign TA's who don't know any english, etc. Orgo distance learning sounds more convenient but you lose a lot of the real experience and crappyness of orgo lab. I think a lot of dental or med schools would look down on this. Have a good one.
