IS there anyone who started with bad GPA during undergraduate and got in to med school later on?
oh yeah..I meant after you re take some classes and fixed all your GPA..
right now, I have 2.2 GPA and all my science courses are C...and I took gen chem 1, 3 times..
what if I re start all those pre med courses? is that too crazy?

Supposedly med schools love the upward trend, so if you show them that you are serious and get good grades from here on out you can always say that you got your act together and flew straight. Is there a chance you have a good reason why your grades are low? I think there are plenty of people who have started out rocky, corrected their course setting, and gotten into med school. But unfortunately, I can't give you a specific example. Maybe it is just some urban legend and nobody gets in unless they have a perfect 4.0 and did really well in high school too. Good luck.

Everyone has problems. I screwed up so badly during my lowerdivision that all my upperdivision work right now is just barely balancing it out. But as themann said, medschools try to look past past mistakes, as long as they're in the past.

I mean, there could be a number of problems for your grades right now.. as you mentioned English is not your native language, perhaps you had to work full time as well, or a myriad of other more pressing issues that kept you away from school work or generally unfocused.

Just make it up as best as you can, try taking challenging classes that would make even medstudents curse science and kick butt in them. Do a lot of extracurricular work and maybe get published. Do grad school. Kick butt on the MCAT. Sleep with the Dean of Admissions . 😀 Or look at Caribbean Medical Schools and really push yourself to kick butt over there.

Don't worry, if you WANT to be a doctor there is always a way.

Speaking of sleeping with the Dean, anybody know where I can find one to sleep with? I'm a guy and this limits things a bit, but I'll even sleep with a secretary if I have to. Med students are no problem either. Sorry, just a 2:45AM post.
